Yes the rooms are dated but still chic and the are kept immaculate. Fridges are replenished every other day. We found food good and you could eat all day. We are over 50 and loved the entertainment. Pool bar does get busy but you can get served and waiters do come round the pool areas. You need a taxi to get to the town really. Beaches either side and if you walk for 10 minutes the locals sunbathe naked, defo needed sunglasses to avoid the shocked eye raises. Staff are so hardworking and seem to really want you to have a great stay. We have booked again for next year as it’s great value for money, we are not big drinkers but found the all inclusive easy and are doing this again. No issues with sun beds we went in school holidays and plenty available so never had to get up early.

I do love a Riu! It's my go-to hotel chain and I enjoy staying at their various locations across the world. Tres Islas is one of our favourites and we've just come back from our sixth visit. I've popped a summary below, but feel free to read on for my honest opinion. + Unbeatable location + Really friendly staff + Great food options - Hotel really needs a significant refurbishment - Some minor issues in the retsaurant The absolute best thing about the hotel is its location. Just a few minutes walk from the mini market that has any additional extras you need, a short bus ride into Corralejo, and right at the doorstep of one of the best beaches in the world. The beach is absolutely incredible and my favourite! One of the other best things about the hotel is the staff - so friendly and helpful. The housekeeping team were also really friendly and smiley, and did an amazing job each day! (Shout out to the incredible Eduardo, Maite, and Jonathan in the restaurant, Acoran the chef, and the gentleman usually in the towel hut - mi español necesita práctica, so I apologies if I've misspelled any names!) Like many other reviews allude to, the hotel and rooms are very dated and the hotel is in serious need of refurbishment. Whilst some might say it's part of the hotel's "charm" (which I can see), the current state of the hotel is not what should be expected for the price, five stars, or the Riu Palace brand. Don't get me wrong, it's not horrendous, but the hotel really does need a significant refurbishment! The lifts are also in need of attention (despite last being reviewed in April 2024) as they're all quite temperamental! I've only ever stayed half board at the hotel, but it's more than adequate with a very wide range of food options (one of the widest I've ever had at a hotel) and tasty. Dinnertimes were a daily highlight for us! The only issues I have with the restaurant (and it's something that is the same with each visit) is that food is often incorrectly labelled (or not labelled at all) - although you can usually work out what it's supposed to be/say. That being said, a peanut item was mislabelled one evening, which is a bit of a concern in particular. The plates and glasses are often not spotlessly clean ready for you to use which, again, for a five-star hotel, really shouldn't be the case. To end a positive note about the restaurant, the Prosecco available each morning (even for half board guests) was a really nice touch, as were the chocolate fountains at dinner! The pool area is really nice with space and the added bonus of two hot tubs, although the beds were often not fully clean ready for the day and the beds are very difficult to adjust without standing up (even then, they can be a little bit tricky at times!). I've tried to be as honest and fair as I can, and I hope this review is helpful. I literally flew back yesterday, so wanted to share my thoughts while they're fresh! We really do love this hotel, it's one of our favourites and our go-to for a beach holiday. However, as time goes on and the hotel becomes more and more dated, it's becoming harder and harder to justify the cost. With plans underway for a beach holiday in April 2025, whilst we're considering coming back to Tres Islas again, I'd be lying if I said that other Riu hotels in other destinations weren't beginning to take the lead.

Although this beautiful hotel is beginning to show its age in places, especially the lifts! and although the food, for us, wasn't as good as in previous years, this is still a very good place to be. The location right on the enormous beach in the National Park is stunning and the hotel is very well appointed, the best feature of all are the staff, they are (almost all) outstanding. It is always a little unfair to name names but three individuals in particular stood out - Florencio on Reception, Mirella on the restaurant terrace for breakfast and lunch and Carlos at the Pool Bar. They all demonstrated just how hotel staff should be - professional, helpful, friendly and cheerful. They made our stay especially enjoyable, muchas gracias!

“Never again”

Been 3times previous to this visit, I will never come again. I have travelled extensively as a solo traveller,and female, but I have never felt so uncomfortable in a hotel as much in my life. I could write a book about this years visit, but I won't, just be aware it's not the RIU palace tres islas of the past
