Very clean apartments and area. I wouldn’t recommend this place for family’s as the self catering options are practically poor for a family, there is no oven in the apartments, just a hob and they don’t cater for a family of four in that respect. The cleaners are very thorough and clean regularly and everything is kept clean and tidy. The pool isn’t kid friendly, you can’t play with balls or anything in the pool so we spent all our time at the beach so the kids could play. The remote, kettle and safe is all to be hired at a cost. There weren’t any kettles available to hire so us being coffee lovers had to boil our water in a pan for 10days, I did burn my foot with the hot water 🤦🏼‍♀️, my fault but obviously a kettle would of been more ideal than using a pan. But we made do with what we had. It’s a great hotel for older couples and someone who is happy to eat out mostly, I personally wouldn’t be able to come back to this hotel as we have kids and it wasn’t ideal to cater for a family, we had a great time and made do with what we had of course so I’m not complaining. There’s no aircon, the rooms are warm in the mornings which isn’t a problem as it’s cooler here in December mornings but I’m not sure if people would appreciate aircon in the summer here. Shops are in walking distance and you aren’t far from the hustle and bustle of the main town which is lovely, the beach is very close, everything is accessible.

Maxorata Beach is a small complex of around eighty apartments, which are about and hour and a half`s drive from the airport. The units are spread over three levels and the levels are linked by steps or long ramps. I think anyone using a wheelchair would find they needed assistance in negotiating the ramps. The apartments are really nice, extremely clean, and comfy however they are (as you will read in lots of reviews) very basic. If you would like TV then you must pay a deposit of 12 Euros for the controls and this is returned at the end of your stay. Equally, if you want a kettle, or a toaster there is a returnable deposit from reception where you collect them. Cutlery wise, there is the usual two/four of everything and when you arrive, you will find washing up liquid and a new cloth, under the sink. There is no air conditioning but you can hire electric fans at reception. Even in December, there are a lot of mosquitoes and my feet were horribly bitten the first evening we arrived. The showers are quite powerful and the water is really hot, all day. There is a very nice pool although when we stayed, the pool was freezing cold which puzzled us and it was too cold for us to stay in for any length of time, we are both ardent swimmers so that was disappointing. It is also worth noting that the tiles surrounding the pool are slippery when wet so be careful. I tripped over one of the pool showers and fell down, fortunately I was just embarrassed but not hurt so you need to be careful stepping into them or walking past them, as you may not be aware of the dip down. There is an attendant available all day by the pool if there are any accidents. In the apartments the TV`s are smart TV`s so there is plenty to watch if the weather isn`t all that or if you have children with you. A ten minute walk away in either direction you will find loads of shops, supermarkets and eateries. We both have arthritis and found the walk to the modern shopping centre a bit arduous, but the walk to the older shops where the market is held every Sunday is much nicer and probably a bit less distance to walk. We didn`t go to the beach as the weather was pretty dire. It`s most unusual for the Canaries but we had grey skies, deluges of rain and wind for about three days. The staff at the apartments are very nice, very helpful, the cleaners called in three times during our week`s stay and they were smashing. There are plentiful taxis and if you want a takeaway delivered, that isn`t a problem. There is a pool bar which opens at 9am for breakfast and remains open until early evening, the food there is very very good and not at all expensive. The apartments are really peaceful and quiet but if you have a young family with you, there is a water park not very far away. The holiday rep` for On the Beach made no show at all but there are plenty of lovely things to do in Fuerte, just touring on a coach if like us, you cannot walk very far, is really pleasant or camel riding in the desert, or taking a ferry to nearby Lanzarote, there is something for everyone. Altogether we enjoyed our stay, in spite of the disappointing weather and we would certainly stay there again, the place is so friendly with a lovely ambience and we would definitely recommend Maxorata Beach Apartments.

This hotel is close to the beach and it’s close to all the restaurants, pub and nightclubs. The staff were lovely and the service was amazing! The hotel rooms are clean. The food was really tasty. I can’t wait to be back here soon! I would really recommend staying here.

We’ve just stayed as a couple, self catering in a Junior suite superior. 41a for a week. Upon checking in, the receptionists were very friendly, chatty and informative. The apartment was a little dated but lovely, fresh looking and clean. We were pleasantly surprised for the star rating. The fridge door was a little rusty but inside was clean and usable. There was a toaster and a coffee machine but no kettle, we just used the small pan on the 2 ring cooker. There was also a hairdryer in the bathroom. The cleaners came every 2nd day and changed the towels. We didn’t get much sun on the balcony, just a little before sundown which was a little disappointing but the balcony was pleasant to sit on. The beds were comfortable and the bedroom was nice with a large wardrobe and a safe available to hire. There isn’t any air conditioning or fans in the room, it wasn’t a problem for us as we opened the front and back windows but I can imagine it may get hot in the midst of summer. The pool area was very clean with plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas. There are also another two separate sunbed terraces available to use. The pool bar seemed well used, we only bought drinks from them but the staff seem pleasant enough. The reception closes at 10pm and is locked up on a night so you have a fob on your key to get in through the front or back door so it feels safe and secure. On a night the whole complex has light sensors so it is easy to see in the dark. It is just a 5 minute walk out of the front door to the Campanario centre and a 10 minute walk to the strip. The back gate makes it quicker to get to the beach. We will definitely stay here again and very much look forward to booking our return.
