Spent a fantastic week here at the end of November here and here is our review of it. We stayed in Caleta de Fuste last November (2023) at the other end of the resort, so wanted to sample the opposite end for a change. CHECK IN Effortless and simple. Check in in staff were nice and pleasant and had a smile. They directed us to where to go to get to our room and gave us info about the hotel, meal times, bar areas etc ROOM We were given a suite, which was massive. Very large bedroom, double sink bathroom, sitting and dining area and a large kitchen with full fridge freezer and 2 balconies, one of which overlooked the pool and had sun loungers on it. Got the sun all afternoon until the sunset at night. It was also very quiet as well, just a little noise from the pool bars music during the day at times. Cleaners in every day with a change of towels and bedding during the week. And the safe was free. To improve it, I would suggest maybe adding some drawers in the bedrooms. FOOD It was the usual hotel buffet. Decent enough selection to choose from, although suffers the usual buffet experience that you have in most hotels, is that the food at times is lukewarm rather than hot. But we cant complain, we ate well, there was enough choice for us and most of it was tasty and well cooked. I do like the odd salad, but it appears that they don’t put any cold meats out for the evening meal (they had it at lunch time). Don’t know why, but it would be nice to have some cold meat options in the evening as well. We had meat, fish, salad, pizza, soups, veg, potato’s, rice, pasta in various offerings through our stay and deserts were ice creams and the usual sweet options of small cakes, profiteroles etc. You can self serve beer, wine and soft drinks as well as coffee. Breakfast is the normal options you get everywhere, with omelettes made whilst you wait. Bread options were limited, so maybe could offer a few different types of bread and rolls? The juice out the machines was never any good, far too watery, but they have nice smoothies. BARS The pool bar is open during the day till about 1730 and serves you drinks and snacks. There are self serve machines for beer, soft drinks and coffee. Anything else you need to ask for. There is a bowl of crisps that you can make use of as well if you fancy some. The snacks that we saw, were burgers, hotdogs, nuggets and chips in the main with some salad stuff. As its kept warm throughout the day in hot water baths, it might be out for a while by the time you get to it. It was ok if you fancied a quick bite. As others have said, the pool bar is on the first floor, so if your not by the pool. Then you need to use the stairs or lift to get a drink during the day. At night the lobby bar opens, and you can sit in here, or outside the front of the hotel, whichever you fancy. The usual bartender was Augustine, and he was always helpful and smiling. There are self serve machines for beer, wine and soft drinks and you can pay extra if you want a premium brand. The AI cocktails are out of a machine, but most of them tasted ok. ENTERTAINMENT It wasn’t the best. I know they are running it to a budget, but there was nothing such as magic show, acrobatics, flamenco etc like we’ve experienced in other hotels over the years. We had 3 nights of different guitarists, 1 karaoke night, 1 bingo night and a music quiz. Maybe its different during the busier summer months. We were happy to sit outside in the evening partaking in a drink or several and just listening, but took part in the music quiz. We never won, but we didn’t come last, so that a win, win in my eyes. LOCATION Literally just 20 steps from the beach. To get here, we travelled by coach, it was about 15 mins from the airport. Out the hotel and turn right and its about 15-20 min walk to a shopping centre. Turn left out the hotel and its about 10-15 mins walk to the start of the main area with shops, bars and restaurants. Nothing is too far away. And its about 20 mins or so to the market as well. There are nice walks either way right along the coast, past the marina etc. and you might get a chance to feed the squirrels. HOTEL ITSELF As others have mentioned, its quite dark in areas and soulless outwith of the reception areas. I can only describe much of it as industrial, due to the steel pillars, iron girders that you can see. It would be nice if a few of the corridors had maybe plants or pictures just to brighten it up a little. But apart from that, it’s a just a base to sleep, eat, drink and relax on your holiday. And that we did with no real complaints. The burning question is “would I come back here again?”. And the answer is yes we would. We had a great time, nice to have lots of winter heat and sun (a couple of days we were in the low 30°s), spent time on the beach and went on a Jetski and was a great place to relax in with plenty to do and see.

Great choice for breakfast cereals,fresh fruit,fruit salads,yoghurts,smoothies, cakes ,pastries, cold meats/cheeses,good variety of cooked breakfast but not hot.didnt use bar or entertainment but different entertainment every night,turn left outside,small shop,3 restaurants,8 minute walk to restaurants,shops dino supermarket and bars O Conners bar is first great pint of Guiness,loads of tvs for the sport, then keep walking and theres another bar/ restaurant area. nice walk along the prom.Turn right out of hotel 15 minute along prom to shopping centre,clothes shops,sports shops,6 restaurants/cafe bars,large spar supermarket, another shopping centre is from bus station its past flower of scotland pub to shopping centre 6 floors , its past the airport was €1.50 single trip,bus number 3.
