Before arrival, we read many negative reviews for this hotel since the PortAventura takeover and was thinking “what have we booked” after finishing the holiday we can say many of these reviews must have been written by moaning Karen’s. Rooms are great with nicely sized balcony’s and bathrooms. The hotel has many pools, with a pool & bubble pools on the roof just for adults. The downstairs family pools are busy, however it’s the summer holidays so expected. Part of all inclusive we could use either the inside bar or outside. Drinks are served in paper cups during the day as everyone is by the pool, but come the night and meals you get your drink in glasses. Booking in for meals is simple to do and no hassle when there. In our package we got multiple tickets for the theme park, if you don’t get them in your package you can buy them for a 50% discount at hotel. WiFi is the best hotel WiFi I’ve had with great connectivity and speeds no matter where you are. Location perfect, with everything walkable. negatives, check in was a long slow process. we arrived before the room was ready and was charged €5 per bag to store. After paying this fee, we got a message 15 minutes later to say the room was ready early and we could go in. No refund available for the bag fee paid. We found the food only lukewarm with not a great choice of typical British foods. Others were filling the plates so it might of just been us. Some of the staff are very young and inexperienced, but we all have to start somewhere. Definitely would return to this hotel, just hope PortAventura don’t rocket the price up and add paid express passes for bars/check in like the theme parks. Any return discounts let us know.

“Good hotel but not a 4 star”

Stayed at this hotel for one week with family. Check in was made very stressful due to a rude man on reception . Stayed at this hotel for one week with family. Check in was made very stressful due to a rude man on reception . I think his name is Cheik after talking with many other hotel guests they all said they had a stressful check in too and after reading reviews I have seen he has been mentioned before due to his rude attitude. Other than this the hotel was a good hotel with great food and drinks, however the hotel would run out of drinks often such as gin and cocktails. The entertainment was poor and there was no atmosphere by the pool in the day. The only good entertainment was the Michael Jackson show as they were brilliant! This hotel is not a 4 star due to running out of drinks , poor entertainment and the hotel rules lets it down such as no pool inflatables and sunglasses in the pool. The hotel also shut the lights off after soon after 12 and ask you to drink your drinks in your hotel room which I have never known at any hotel as soon as the bar shuts. Other than this the hotel is good it’s just a shame it’s let down by silly rules.

• Clean • Friendly and helpful staff - key card wasn't working on first day, visited front desk who sorted this ASAP, then rang to make sure we was OK. • Nice room, spacious and clean. • Very clean in hotel, maids all the time • Good location, 10 mins to beach - beach very busy • 1 bar - short staffed (10 min wait for drink) • Not a lot of drink selection , also noted drinks watered down. Bars outside hotel served better drinks. • 1 bar for all inclusive - start charging after 11. This bar changed Midweek. • Cocktails pre made, was told only had certain ones available. Also by 2nd week of holiday, the choice got even more limited • Had to book restaurant for breakfast and dinner. Best time for couple without children was half 9. Always got fresh food and cleaned regularly. • Food was good. Tasted nice just difficult to make meal. Section at back of restaurant made fresh food there and then. I.e. one night was burger night and another kebabs. • Rooftop pool very good. Adults only, quiet and spent most of time here. No bar so had to walk down to ground level to get drinks, we was OK with this in the end to get fresh air. • Jet2 not available until Sunday - however did come in to see us when we messaged on WhatsApp they turned up • Sports bar at port aventura- very nice staff,food and drink brilliant (20 min walk) • Not happy with port aventura - extremely busy. Long queues. Had to wait 2 hours, only managed 4 rides in 7 hours... • Happy with waterpark but don't need all day • Roadhouse nearby restaurant- highly recommend!!!!
