Very pleased with this hotel, clean tidy and well maintained. There are lots of sun loungers around the pool. The drinks at the pool bar were branded beers and spirits with a large seating area to use for snacks and drinks. Beds were very comfortable and made up every day of the week. The staff were very polite and helpful in all areas. The dining room was fitted out with comfortable seating and the food was fine. I would give it at least 4 stars.

I stayed with my wife in one room and my mother in law and daughter (22), stayed in another room. We arrived 8th June and departed 15th June. We arrived around 5.30pm and check in was quick and efficient by the friendly staff. We were given our all inclusive bands and told that as we missed you lunch, we would be entitled to lunch on our day of departure so would get a full week of meals. We had to pay the tourist tax too which I think was about €20 for all four of us in 2 rooms. The room was clean as was all of the hotel, safe was free which is the first hotel I've stayed where you don't pay extra for it. Also mini fridge in room. Beds were large and enough room to get around. There's moisturiser and soap by the sink in the bathroom and shower gel and shampoo by the shower, even some tissues. Also hairdryer if needed. Maids would clean rooms daily if required. Our door handle became loose and was falling off so I reported it after breakfast one day and by lunch it was fixed. Food was good, sometimes got a little repetitive but always able to find plenty to eat. An explanation of the repetitiveness was given by the animation lady who told us that the week after we went home the hotel moves into "peak season", and so the restaurant would start to introduce theme nights with different cuisines and there'd be more choice. I understand now more why. Also from the following week the animation would gear up more, when we arrived, it was in the indoor bar in the evening but for the last 3 nights the outdoor bar opened and the entertainment was on the outdoor stage. Apparently another member of the animation team would also start the following week. The animation lady was friendly and took time to speak to guests. She would do activities round the pool during the day, and at night there'd be a mini disco, sometimes bingo or other games or karaoke and several times a week singers or dancers would be brought in to provide entertainment. Pool was a good size and we never struggled to get 4 beds together but I get the impression that in peak season you might struggle. The pool area is closed until around 9.30 or 10. You aren't supposed to reserve sunbeds but people still do. Pool bar was good and for all inclusive there was self service beer, sangria and soft drinks. Alcoholic drinks were good and didn't seem watered down like in some hotels. Cocktails were out of a machine on all inclusive but if you paid they would make up proper cocktails. The location of the hotel looking on the map seemed quite far from Salou centre, but if you turn left out of the hotel and left again then follow the road where there are roadworks then it's only about a 10-15 walk to the main beach and seafront. All the way down this road there are shops, bars and restaurants too. Another thing I'd like to mention is that the day before we departed it was my wife's birthday and when we went back to the room to change before going down to lunch they had left a message for her, 2 glasses and a bottle of cava in the fridge for her. We thought this was a lovely touch and we personally thanked the manager of the hotel for this. We would certainly go back to this hotel and had a great week even though we had a couple of days of dodgy weather. Many thanks to all of the staff, from reception to cleaning to bar to restaurant to animation and finally management. All of them were helpful, friendly and pleasant.

We were at the Best Mediterraneo in Salou for an eight night stay in June for family holiday, consisting of my young daughter, partner and myself. The hotel is advertised as a three star hotel, and this is what it is, don’t go expecting anything more or anything less. We have stayed at other Best Hotels before so I pretty mush knew what to expect. We went all-inclusive, we were satisfied with the choice of food and drinks, although the food at meals time can become repetitive, although I liked the food. The odd occasion I had to go to the reception with an issue the staff were helpful and prompt with a response. Although the room was on the smaller side I can’t complain about it. I’ve seen reviews mention the lack of English tv channels but I don’t go on holiday to watch TV. I found my room to be clean and what I should expect, there wasn’t any noise disturbance, but I guess that can all depend on which room you have. I can’t grumble about the pool areas, my daughter is the age where she wants to spend all day every day in the pool, and we could’ve, we also never struggled for sun loungers even though the majority were taken at 09:30 in the morning by the army of sun seekers. The entertainment is hit and miss, but I can understand why when they’re trying to cater for different ages and nationalities. I would visit again, but as I say to go expecting a four star, it is very much a three star hotel that caters for all ages and nationalities.
