We found the hotel perfect for us (with a 4 year old and 1 year old). There are plenty of sunloungers and a variety of pools (yes, they're cold, but that's what you need on a hot day). The staff went out of their way to look after us, and the minidisco was a big hit. The food at the buffet was good and very varied. Only quibble might be that the evening schedule is quite late for small kids (dinner doesn't start until 6:30pm and the minidisco kicks off at 8:45pm) ... but hey, it's Mediterranean time! :)

Me and my husband stayed here for 1 week in June half board. It is mostly booked with families with smaller kids. There is some entertainment during the day and some in the evening not too much so you feel like you can’t get away from it. The pool looks like great fun for the children but to be honest it’s probably not the best for an adult swim. The nearest beach is about a 10min walk and it’s small and cute with rental of sun loungers and umbrella if you’d like @€8per lounger plus umbrella. The hotel is amazingly kept well and clean considering that there’s so many small kids and families. The staff is very friendly and nothing seems too much trouble. The daily buffet: there’s always several choices of warm food (fish, meat and veg) and some rice of some kind and or pasta or potato. There’s also freshly cooked fish and meat on the grill which changes daily. There’s a salad bar with cold meats and cheeses and of course there’s ice cream, yoghurts, cakes and fresh fruit. Overall a great selection. Now it’s not easy for me to travel and eat out due to my multiple food allergies but the staff in the restaurant went way and beyond for me. They have a small selection of gluten free cereals including plant milks, gluten free bread and a separate toaster. They cooked food especially for me and even organised for me on their day off. Every time I arrived I got shown around by either Ester or Anca on what I could eat.

We have just came back from 7 nights here. We thought this hotel was perfect for what we were looking for a good price hotel for kids(8 months+ 4 years old) the staff can’t help you enough and are very friendly. Our 4 year old attended kids club two days and absolutely loved it the ladies are really friendly. We went all inclusive and food very good standard for all inclusive always had something to eat and kept changing it. Alcohol is very decent and proper cups is always a bonus. Rooms was spacious and enough room and beds comfortable but you can hear everything from next door and above you and worst bit about whole holiday was the road noise. It goes on to well in the morning with cars revving their engines and people shouting. We aren’t the kind of people to complain but we should have asked to be moved to poolside. I would stay here again if got the right deal but would need to stay poolside room. It’s great for the kids and that’s what it’s about.

We have just returned from Golden Avenida, travelled as a family of 3 with a 4 year old. Food- we went all inclusive and to be honest it’s one of the less impressive we’ve been to. The food at meal times was okay, with a good selection, though dinner started quite late (6:45pm) for our 4 year old, even 6pm would have been great given that lunch ends at 2.30pm. The snacks during the day are really limited - toasties, pizza, chicken nuggets, chips. You can ask for salad apparently, but when all inclusive you shouldn’t have to ask. No fruit or yogurts or healthier options available so found that quite poor. There are some snacks behind the bar but we got different information on if any of this was included in all inclusive. Filtered water available all day but no other self serve drinks, you have to go to the bar. Rooms- the room was spacious and comfortable. The beds are made and towels changed daily, but not much other cleaning, and underneath the beds was very dusty. We had a roadside room which was fine, there is quite a bit of noise but within the hotel everything goes quiet from around 11.30-12pm on. Pools- pools are great size and lots of sun beds. If you wanted poolside or near the kids pool you did need to queue with towels for when they opened the pool area at 8am.The sun beds are really comfortable. However the pools are very very cold. The website they have says there are heated pools but none of the outdoor ones were heated while we were there. The sea was warmer, and honestly the pool temperature was just about tolerable for us, but we did have to get our child out a few times to warm up as they were shivering Entertainment - the mini disco and activities for kids (face painting and balloons) were great - we don’t use kids club so can’t comment on that but the staff are great with all the kids. Again though the entertainment started really late - 8pm for face painting etc and mini disco started close to 9pm most nights by which time our 4 year old was pretty tired. No chance of us staying up for the later shows at 10pm. General hotel - all the staff were lovely and the hotel generally well run and maintained. They have a couple of play parks which our child loved, though there are some areas in the grounds that look a bit neglected and in need of some work (see pics). The toilets beside the bar area are tiny (a lot of parents having to keep the toilet door open so they could assist their younger children) and were frequently soaking with water all over the floor. The restaurant had table runners on each table which were a bit of a pain for people with kids as they slip and slide every time you move so easy to knock stuff over. Salou/Reus- in general it’s a nice resort and the beach is fab. We went to the beach twice during our stay. Sea was so warm and beach was clean. We noticed police patrolling the streets and beach as well so it felt really safe. I would say it can be a bit dirty walking around the smaller side streets but didn’t put us off. Hotel was only 15 mins in a taxi from Reus airport. Reus is a small airport but the queues were really long both arriving and departing so leave a lot of time. Overall we had a pleasant stay but didn’t feel it was great for all inclusive.
