Very clean, friendly staff situated right by the beach, which was also clean loungers on the beach are charged for €10 !! We used towels . Only downside was dinner wasn't until 6.45, bit late for young children, and evening entertainment started for children at 9pm, adult's at 10pm. Buses into Salou were every 10 minutes or so, and so cheap. All in all, a lovely Holiday. Thank you Cap Salou

“Mostly good”

My shower didn't work throughout my stay.. Nor was my room cleaned once during my time!! Most of the staff were very helpful and friendly. Especially Raul.. He's a top man. Should be running the hotel!!! I did complain to staff about these issues but were never resolved

“3 Stars about right - I would award 3½ if I could”

It's a 3 Star hotel but I would probably rate it as a 3½ Star - slightly better than just 'average' but not up to 4 star standard. Having read some of the negative reviews on here I was worried about what kind of hotel we were going to? Not sure what people are expecting from a 3 star hotel but we found it perfectly acceptable for the price we had paid. Previous comments on this site have criticised the staff yet we found everyone helpful and polite especially the staff in the dining room who did a great job in what was always a busy and hectic environment. On a few occasions we had to queue before we were allocated a table but you could see that the staff were working as fast as they could to clear tables and prepare them for the next in the queue. Similarly it seems that previous reviewers found fault with the standard of cleaning in the hotel! We had no complaints whatsoever on this score as our room was cleaned every day and the communal areas of the hotel were generally well maintained. The pool area was especially busy during our stay and I presume that it must have been the last week of the Spanish school holidays judging by the number of Spanish families staying in the hotel. That said, we always managed to get a sunbed without any problems and the main pool whilst busy was never uncomfortably so. There is also a kids' pirate themed pool on the other side of the hotel which seemed popular enough with the youngsters whenever we passed by it but, not having kids, we never actually used it! We estimated the ratio of guests to be about 70% Spanish, 15% Irish and the rest made up of Brits, Germans, Dutch and Russians so the fact that the hotel was so popular with the Spaniards is surely a good sign. Lastly - the food! Again - 3 stars is about right! Perfectly adequate and not as terrible as suggested in some reviews but nothing too spectacular either. Plenty of choice for starters and main courses although the selection of desserts was a little underwhelming! Overall we had an enjoyable stay with no complaints and felt that we got pretty much what we paid for.

“Do your research before booking”

On arrival was greeted by a friendly receptionist. Did all our check-in but had to wait until 2 pm to be able to go into our room. We were in room 014. On arrival was greeted by a friendly receptionist. Did all our check-in but had to wait until 2 pm to be able to go into our room. We were in room 014. The view was nice looking out to the pool but the room was horrible. The walls were damp with plaster falling off. The laminate flooring was coming apart. Little one caught his toe in it and he fell over. The room wasn't cleaned properly. The next day I complained to jet2 rep Andre. He was brilliant and got our room changed the following day. We was then given room 011 which was alot better and so much room. No information was given to us when we arrived about what was included in the all inclusive or where we needed to go for food. The food wasn't very good. Not much choice for fussy little ones. My little one only ate a few chips and cakes from the restaurant he wouldn't touch anything else. Puddings were really nice and a great selection. Most of the food was cold as it was a buffet. The pools were clean and around the pool areas were cleaned daily. The beach is lovely but not a private beach. The sun loungers that are on the beach you have to pay to use. The indoor swimming pool which is small was always packed. Around the area there is only 3 restaurants, 2 small supermarkets, a gift shop and a bigger supermarket. Taxi's into Salou cost around 12 euro each way but expect a wait. 1 day we waited 2hrs 30 minutes for a taxi. We had to get reception to call again. La Pineda is nice but about 45 minutes walk each way. Portaventuraworld is brilliant but long queues for the rides. No many rides for under 1m 10. Most of the staff at the hotel were friendly and spoke English. I think you can get better for your money. I wished I did more research before booking here.
