Myself, partner and 9 year old son stayed at the Don Pedro from 26th to 31st December, we stayed half board. We arrived around 1.30pm and check in was quick and we had access straight away to our room, we was on the 2nd floor. Room was small but adequate enough for what we needed, double bed and a single, lots of wardrobe space, safe, tv with a few english channels and a fridge, lovely walk in shower, room was cleaned and towels changed every day we was there. Nice balcony with table and chairs. Food was good, my partner and son are fussy eaters but they always found something. Breakfast was great, bacon, sausage, hash browns, eggs, donuts, pain au chocolats, pancakes, fresh fruit, cereal the list goes on. Evening meal was always nice, fish, meats, potatoes, veg, rices, salads, breads etc was really nice. Indoor heated pool was great really warm we spent time in there daily as the outdoor pools were way too cold. Bar was nice drinks reasonably priced, english football matches were shown. Location was great, beach right outside and shops and bars, we visited Benalmadena twice as we liked the beach better. Overall brilliant hotel we would return

“Through some faults still love this place !”

First can I start with bad points ! First can I start with bad points ! We expected to stay in don pedro but on arrival was in the smaller hotel don pablo as pedro having overall, smaller and lot less choice regarding food and smaller room, Entertainment was dire !!!! Awful ! Except two nights for a male singer and the three tenors who were excellent! Caters for Spanish, not for 60 yr olds or below! Could do with an evening of English 60s music ….. disco ! Swimming pools outside freezing ! Not all staff friendly bar man really miserable! Had two nights of conference people who took over! Now good points ! Fantastic hotel clean Housekeeping fantastic! Antonio in bar great Oliver in restaurant lovely Room 2270 small but good pity about view! Food good Indoor pool good Hidden gem jacuzzi lovely! Shops along strip fantastic! Sea not able to swim in Receptionist was lovely ! One big disappointment was travel to hotel on arrival to airport had to wait for others took over hr ! And the man did not hold our names up and was very rude ! Can’t fault travel back to airport! Gym was great but too small !

Basic 4 star hotel. I was worried before I arrived after reading the reviews and emailed hotel and told me that I had a good room and there were no complaints so I felt happier until I arrived . Looks lovely on the outside . Reception area was small and had to wait to check in . Our room xtra pool access room . Small . No dressing gowns or flip flops went and asked reception said it wasn’t available any more but I saw people with dressing gowns on my last two days. Nice to have walk in shower but toiletries were awful as had to end up buying my own shampoo. Wardrobe doors sticking . Housekeeping was very good the best staff in the hotel ? Our room was close to the bar so could hear music . Breakfast was very busy . I am a coeliac and no one at the gluten free station to get cereals or buns has had to wait for ages and some was toasting their gluten bread in the gluten free toaster. No teapot or coffee jug as I thought it was dangerous carrying hot cups in the crowd. We booked bed and breakfast but we paid for the Christmas dinner costing 132 euro per person (264 for two if us) I didn’t mind paying if it was a good night it was just a buffet and open bar but we are not drinkers so felt it was a rip off for what we got . Night entertainment and bar was very busy . Had to queue up for drinks and couldn’t hear or see at the back of the room . Didn’t like their cocktails not freshly made and my husband didn’t like their beer choices so he didn’t have any . The best entertainment was Christmas night as we could get up and dance on the floor. We used the spa , no questions asked or questionnaires. The bench was very uncomfortable and no offer of a drink a water afterwards . All the spas we been this was very basic and charge you extra to use the facilities even after the spa treatment . Lots of older clientele here but after all my travelling this was the basic hotel and won’t be returning again

“Will not return, excessively noisy room, rubbish breakfast.”

Felt like a hindrance on check in, the receptionist was far too busy to even acknowledge us(no one else was waiting to be seen) the breakfast was horrible and English sausages appeared undercooked. Felt like a hindrance on check in, the receptionist was far too busy to even acknowledge us(no one else was waiting to be seen) the breakfast was horrible and English sausages appeared undercooked. Happy hour in the bar was okay €5.40 for 2 pints, can't grumble. If you value your sleep and don't want to let staff or other guests decide what time you need to be awake, I'd avoid this hotel particularly room 2010 or any on the ground floor. Absolutely will not return to this hotel.
