Riu Nautilus - Adults Only

“As good as ever”

We have holidayed at the Riu Nautilus several times, because everything about it suits us, especially the adults only aspect. As usual this trip was no exception and we enjoyed it thoroughly, with top marks in every area. The staff are super friendly and provide an excellent service.

This was our first visit and we had a lovely time at this hotel. If you are looking for an adults only, immaculately clean, and relaxing hotel in a super location then this is for you. The pool area is lovely and yes, as others have said if you want a particular spot then you need to be up to reserve your bed, (as everyone else is!) However we went at several different times of the day and always managed to grab a bed somewhere. The position of the dining room overlooking the pool and sea is lovely and the food was generally very good. I would give the al a carte restaurant a miss as it was a bit disappointing. The food, ambience and service was much better in the buffet next door. Our room was in the side section on the ground floor and was spacious, clean and had the most storage I have ever seen. The hotel’s location is a major advantage with a choice to walk left or right to a never ending range of bars, shops and restaurants. We would definitely return.

Nice Hotel,Great location, Only issues are dear drinks, cheaper outside, noticed not many people drinking during our stay due to this issue, Food OK just the outlay sometimes ie meat away from vegetables.small issue again no real problem. issue for us was during breakfast a number of drinks were available free but evening meal you had to pay for water didn't mind this for beers but would be nice to a free water not charged 2.70 euros, again cheaper outside we just went to our room and had our drinks which we purchased outside.This is one of the hotels where everyone puts towels on the sunbed so be warned just wait until after lunch than usually there is one free. Entertainment was hit and miss but we were out exploring most of the time and could hear the singers from our balcony. Special mention Xavier on Reception explained all local attractions and train and bus information we required to enjoy our holiday. one odd thing was if you were at the tail end of the breakfast time they would start preparing the table for the evening meal felt a bit rushed to help them finish their work, this happen again in the evening meal time.

Overall it’s a pretty average Hotel. The Hotel is in a prime location. The main areas are very clean, our room was cleaned daily but in 10 days never had the bed sheets changed. The bathroom towels are awful and too small, they must be twenty years old. The shower head is very small and personally thought the bathroom needed a refurb all grouting dirty. The restaurant was just OK, no omelettes, streaky bacon and small chipolata sausages, have seen better. The evening food was ok again have seen better before but not too bad. No entertainment team, so nothing going on throughout the day. The evening entertainment was extremely poor compared to other hotels. Sunbed wars at dawn..!!! If you are not down by 7:00am forget a sunbed. I never in 10 days saw the pool tested for chemicals. Also never saw the pool area ever washed down. The beds are incredibly uncomfortable, and desperately need replacing, they are metal framed with paint missing off and sun lotion marking the main areas on the bed. The pool is one depth throughout. It’s a shame as this could be an extremely excellent hotel, if the rooms had new towels, changed all the poolside beds and washed it down daily and included an animation team, if only one person and looked at the evening entertainment then this could be a top hotel. Would I stay here again? Not unless they took my advice.
