“Beautiful Relaxing Stay”

Family stay in December for a week in a 2 bed seaview apartment for 2adults and 2 kids. We had an amazing time and all staff went out of their way to ensure we had a great experience. We had a fantastic stay at The Onas Marinas we stayed 20th to 27th December. “A fairly decent stay.”

Nice hotel. Nice breakfast. Room was a bit dated and tired and not a good view compared to a lot of other rooms. Bar area is also a bit tired. The apartment was comfortable and spacious with an amazingly powerful shower. The apartment was kept spotless each day thanks to the wonderful and friendly housekeeping staff. We stayed all inclusive and needed for nothing on our trip. Thanks to the great bar staff for everything! We found the meals to be of a very high standard too offering lots of choice each day and always freshly topped up,you can see the kitchen staff working tirelessly behind the scenes to keep up with the demand and they always greeted you with a pleasant smile. There was plenty of choice of seating inside and in the heated glass enclosed area outside too,it was always nice to have a choice in where to sit. The waiting staff were always up for a laugh and made sure we had drinks and enough food. The whole area was always kept spotless too. Dining at the hotel was one of the highlights for us! Thanks also to the entertainment team especially Leo (WeeeHee) he hosted karaoke one of the nights which was fantastic. He also included all guests in yoga,boules,archery and table tennis tournaments, the kids loved it!Leo's vibrant and upbeat humour really got everyone interacting with eachother, thanks Leo! We had some great family nights in the bar too where we were entertained by singers which included a fantastic IL Divo tribute on our last night. The hotel itsell is located a 25min walk to Nerja which is lovely along the coast and suited us to be away from the busier crowds in Nerja. We honestly needed for nothing during our stay at the Marinas hotel. The Mediterranean sea and a safe beach with sounloungers on a grassy area are all literally on your doorstep and with easy access to outdoor swimming pools too. Even in December we enjoyed swims in the sea and pools. There was a great easy going atmosphere lounging around for the day. The drinks and snacks on offer were also fantastic. There is also a very well stocked shop in the hotel and a mini market also on the grounds. The bus stop to Nerja is right outside but we never used it because taxis were only €8 into town and took less than 10mins. There are plenty of taxi ranks in town to get back. We were also booked in for the New Years eve Gala dinner which we didn't know was included when we booked. It was a fantastic night and a great way to party in the New Year. Hosting about 400 guests for 5 courses followed by a DJ (and coffee and churros!) until 4am it was a great vibe all round. Whilst many of the typically Spanish courses were not to our own personal taste buds we really enjoyed the experience and the effort the staff put into the night. The hotel organise the gala night putting tables of guests together that speak the same language, this was a great way to meet and chat with other people staying at the hotel too. The Gala evening is hosted in the hotel's banqueting hall which was beautifully decorated and kitted out for the evening. We even got a party accessories pack to help ring in the new year! There are so many positives to mention about this hotel and we can't recommend it enough. If you want to have a seriously relaxing stay in a beautiful part of Spain by the beach then this is the place to book. We truly enjoyed the perfect sunrise views from our balcony and beautiful sunset views from the beach where we happily swam and watched the sun go down. To all the staff, we want to say a massive THANK YOU for looking after our every need and making this our most enjoyable holiday to date. We have already booked our return trip.
