This is an outstanding hotel. I wouldn’t normally write a review mid stay but this place deserves it. Beautifully appointed tasteful rooms with glorious view of you are sea facing. Three pools including one rooftop one with a gastro restaurant . Staff all unbelievably welcoming. Have to also point out that it smells lovely everywhere. I think we forget how important that is!

“Perfect long weekend”

One of the nicest hotels we've stayed in. The staff are wonderful. Our room was perfect, we upgraded to suite with jacuzzi on the balcony. It had huge comfy bed and housekeeping were great. We've stayed in many 5* hotels and this was one of the best. We will definitely be back.

“Perfect luxury beach vacation!”

Hotel El Fuerte is absolutely wonderful, highly recommend! Wish we could have stayed longer, we didn’t want to leave! Every luxurious detail is perfect. We had a water front room with balcony, the view is breathtaking. Really Comfy bed & pillows. All of the staff were wonderful, very gracious & helpful. They had live entertainment at night & the singer had a fantastic voice. The breakfast is phenomenal, anything you could want & some things you didn’t even expect. Jamon Iberico, oysters, charcuterie, eggs & omelettes made to order, crepes, waffles, so many pastries, delicious fresh fruit, gluten-free options, healthy foods as well as typical buffet offerings. Plus Cava to make a mimosa if you want. The beach & pools are great, lots of lounge chairs at all the pools & on the beach. Umbrellas are there if you need a little shade. Make sure to go to the rooftop for the view. We ate at Soleo on the beach for lunch twice, great food & wonderful staff. It’s about 5 to 10 minutes walk to Marbella Old Town, so beautiful & charming, we loved wandering the streets. We also loved walking along the Promenade. There are tons of great restaurants within a few minutes’ walk of the resort. We especially enjoyed Luini (get the pasta made in a wheel of Parmesan, it’s so delicious) and for tapas, Bodega Venencia was outstanding. Thank you to everyone at Hotel El Fuerte!!! We really enjoyed our visit!!

Hotel El Fuerte is very well located along Marbella’s seaside walkway (Paseo Marítimo) and within easy walking distance of a wide choice of restaurants as well as the picturesque old town (Casco antiguo). The hotel has relatively recently been upgraded from four to five stairs and fully deserves this rating. We had a standard room and were impressed with both the size and the quality of the room. The breakfast buffet is excellent, and the common areas are relatively spacious. We appreciated the fact that one of the pools is adults only, even if you would not suspect that from the depth of the water, which varies from 90 - 100 cms at the shallow end to only 130 - 140 cms at the “deep” end. The hotel is, however, close enough to the beach that you can stay around the pool and run to the beach for a swim and then come back and enjoy the sun on the hotel lawn. The rooftop bar offers good drinks and, more importantly perhaps, great views of the surroundings. The staff is highly professional and, for the most part, very friendly. We in particular appreciated Davide in guest relations, Jorge and his colleagues managing the pool area and sun beds, and Claudia in the rooftop bar. A couple of details nevertheless leave room for improvement. We arrived relatively early and took the opportunity to have a quick bite on the terrace while waiting. The food took “forever” to arrive and getting the bill took even longer, with an explanation that the waiter couldn’t do everything at once. She was the only grumpy staff member we met during our stay. One of the things she apparently did not have time to do was to ask whether we actually wanted bread and butter the meal - we got it automatically - and draw our attention to the quite steep price for this, which is a quite unnecessary extra when you order pizza. The room was excellent but located at the far end of the hotel, with a partial view of the sea - which is fine - but also within easy earshot of a municipal garbage container where people drop off bottles with the attendant noise at all hours, including after midnight. All in all our stay was very pleasant and the relatively minor details on which the hotel could improve should in no way overshadow the hard work of all the staff to make the Hotel El Fuerte a five star experience.
