My wife and I stayed at the Miramar in Nov/Dec 2024 for two weeks as part of a package. We have travelled extensively staying in a variety of accommodation but had never visited Fuengirola before, so we were looking for a little winter warmth in a hotel with appropriate facilities, apartment style rooms and in an attractive position. The hotel fulfilled these requirements perfectly. The welcome to reception was friendly, helpful and efficient. The lifts to the upper floors were speedy and always available, this being a relatively quiet time of the year. Our room was just like the appearance on the web site. A good sized lounge area with plenty of seating, a decent TV (we didn't use this much), pleasant balcony and a kitchen area with utensils, fridge (no ice box), plenty of cupboard space, microwave, toaster, hotplates, iron and board etc. All very appropriate for our stay. I would recommend bringing an extra tea towel and dishcloth. The bathroom was of a good size complete with a bath and shower combination as well as a stand-alone shower. The showers were good with plenty of hot water available at all times. The towels, which were good quality, were changed regularly on demand. Shower gel and shampoo was quite limited so do bring your own or buy from one of the many local shops. The bedroom had two single beds and plenty of storage for two people. The beds were quite hard but we don't mind that and had good nights' sleep throughout. Spare sheets, blankets, pillows are available if required. We were staying on a half-board basis so took breakfast and dinner in the restaurant. This is quite large and at that time of year was not at all busy. Breakfast was extensive with plenty of fresh fruit, cold meats, cheeses, cereals, breads of many varieties, cakes etc. In addition a full hot breakfast buffet was available and the quality was good. The evening meal was surprisingly good with plenty of choice - I say surprisingly good because, with so few guests it must have been difficult to prepare a full and varied offering. It wasn't of a five star hotel quality, of course, and this couldn't be reasonably expected. We had anticipated going out for dinner a few times during our stay but had no need to with everything that we required was provided. All of the staff in the dining area were very helpful and obliging indeed - nothing was too much trouble and they were so friendly. The wine available was also of good quality and very reasonably priced. There were plenty of sun beds available for those who like them. We didn't make any use of these facilities - the pool was closed, of course, but there is a heated indoor pool and a gym for the active ones. The grounds are laid out well and a few padel courts seemed to be very popular - I would have loved to play f only I were 20 years younger! Close to the hotel is a large Centro Commercial, including a Carrefour where you can buy pretty well everything. In addition the local L-1 bus stops outside the CC and this can be used to get anywhere along the Fuengirola strip with trips costing just €1 per journey if you buy a Bonobus ticket. The walk along the Paseo Maritimo is around 5-6 miles so we would often get the bus to Los Boliches or even Carvajal and walk back, enjoying a coffee at half-way. Alongside the hotel is the Rio Fuengirola which only flows seasonally and has been made into a parque fluvial offering pleasant evening walking, children's playgrounds etc and is very pleasant indeed. For us this situation was perfect - on the edge of town but also easy to get into the livelier areas if required. The hotel exceeded our expectations, was very good value for money and we would have no hesitation in returning once again.

“Long-stay !”

We came as guests for the first time to the hotel on 4.3.2006. We experienced being well taken care of by the entire staff and decided to book for next winter as well. We also had a couple of friends with us, who, like us, appreciated everything about the hotel, the staff, the service and the location. They have also been here many times since. We have been here since about 2 months in the autumn and 3 months in the winter. Together since 2006, we have spent 34 long-stay periods - 286 weeks in total. Or 5 years, 6 months. So we can fully recommend this hotel. Great location for walking in the surrounding hills, the beach or using the bus that stops right outside to get around town. Can absolutely be recommended.
