Myself and my sister took my mum on holiday to this hotel due to its location and because my mum has reduced mobility. It was perfect. We had a room suitable for her mobility needs, it was large; clean and had everything we needed for the week including a very good accessible bathroom. The staff were helpful and helped us hire a mobility scooter which were readily available from different businesses nearby. There’s a room downstairs that you can use to recharge them safely. The house keeping staff were efficient and friendly. The pool area was good, nothing fancy but not loud. We ate breakfast at the hotel once and it was nice. The location is excellent. The area is flat. There’s a couple of great restaurants right next to the hotel but the main restaurant areas are really close by. It’s right near the harbour. There’s a great bakery opposite. I would recommend this hotel, we had a very nice stay and are likely to return.

“Perfect!!!”

Had such a beautiful stay and the lovely man on reception gave us an upgrade. Pool was fab and cocktails at the pool bar are great too! Can’t believe the room we got, absolutely stunning 😍 10/10 would recommend. Thank you hotel Pyr and you’re amazing staff x

“Average hotel but excellent location”

We stayed at the Pyr for a week in May - as a family we booked both a 2 bed apartment and also a studio. We arrived at the hotel at 3pm and check in was fast. The 2 bed apt was huge and could easily accommodate 6 people - 2 single beds in each bedroom and 2 large pull out sofa beds in the living room. There is a small kitchenette behind sliding doors which was fully equipped with microwave, large fridge/freezer, 2 x 2 ring hobs, kettle and toaster. Plenty of cutlery, pots, cups, plates etc. One of the bedrooms had an ensuite which was brilliant and there was a large family bathroom with a bath. The apartment was cleaned daily and towels changed each day too. Our balcony was narrow but wrapped all around the apt - it was facing the port/marina area so it got the morning sun but bear in mind the sun has fully moved on by c2pm. If you want afternoon sun you need a room overlooking the pool area. There was a table and 4 chairs to enjoy breakfast in the morning. The hotel is located right in the centre of Fuengirola which is great for access to everything - but remember that this also means it is right in the centre of bars, nightclubs (which dont close until 4am) and restaurants so it is very noisy at night time - our apt was at the seafront and the studio was at the side (above the main entrance) and both were very loud between 1am - 4am. The pool area is very clean and well maintained with a good pool bar. There is a small kids pool and extra space just for sun loungers but unfortunately both the main and children's pools were freezing so we could not enjoy them. A few people we saw braved the cold water when we were there but they were out again in less than 2 mins! The sea water is far warmer so we spent our days at the beach - which is located a minute walk away so fantastic location. The studio the other family members had was a good size with both a bed and sofa bed and a small kitchen area. The studio was more modern than the apartment but I understand all rooms are being upgraded which is good to hear as the apartment was quite dated in some areas. We didnt avail of the cafe/bistro on site as we were self catering but there are plenty of small shops nearby to get supplies including 2 on the same street and a lovely bakery across the road to get fresh bread / crossiants etc. There are 2 Mercadona (large supermarket) - less than 10 mins walk - one to the right and one up past the train station - which has absolutely everything you could need. For those with children Sould Amusement Park is located right across from the hotel which is great for kids up to about the age of 7. Only negatives were - freezing pool water, prices of taxi's booked through the hotel was so expensive in comparison to going to a taxi rank or using uber, and we also came across 2 cockroaches in our apartment which wasnt very nice. Also while the studios are reasonably priced, the 2 bed apartment was very expensive however obviously I knew this when booking but I was expecting it to be a bit more modern. However the positives outweighed the negatives and I would have no issue staying at Pyr again.
