Just got back from hotel Angela Overall it was very nice, they try and fob you in rubbish rooms being British we just go with it -but please don’t pay extra for pool/beach view just be firm they will say it’s a upgrade but it’s not really - it’s what you have paid for. Location is great pool great most staff are ok - accept pool snack bar staff they are arrogant and if you step away from your sun bed for a hour they remove your towels- most sun beds are in shade till afternoon- so you have to be queuing from 8am and it opens at 9 to try reserve one - like I say staff give your sun-beds away to there friends and families. Very clicky Food was good - we met a few people that had there bags thieved from the dining room- all was caught on camera - but hotel didn’t care - makes me wonder if it’s inside crime racket So just be vigilant and not put off by the elderly clientele that makes you even more relaxed and off the ball.

We have just returned from the Angela, after a quick week with Tui. Tui was excellent in every way all on time, the Angelo in my opinion after holidaying all around the world is a good 3 star which could be a lot better with better management. The staff were 70% miserable at all times, especially in the dining room and some at reception. It was is if they did not want to be there. The food was not the best, and I am not picky but something was obvious wrong in the kitchen. The dining room was a little miserable with paper table clothes, which made it feel like a 3 star, which let this hotel down. The rooms were very clean yet a little small, cleaners were very hard working at all times and kept the place very clean everywhere. I think that this hotel could do with better management and a new manager, and sack the miserable staff, to work elsewhere. The bar operated a 2 for one, 8-9, always long queues for drinks, sometimes 20 minutes if that is what you wanted. Pool beds were always scoffed up straight away, nobody allowed until 9 am yet still waiting for the seats. We never saw the suites, looked very nice yet very very expensive. Would i go back, yes if the above honest reviews were addressed. The only person to blame for this is the manager, needs replacing.

Good points: Overall we enjoyed our stay. 1. Really good hairdryer (long hair girlies will appreciate this). 2. Gorgeous view from apartment (we had a side sea view room). 3. Breakfast is worth adding to your booking, good selection and typically quite fresh. 4. Indoor pool area. It’s like a spa thermal suite, has a sauna & steam room. You access it through the dining room (I saw a reviewer here say it’s closed- it’s not. We just asked at reception and were told how to get to it!). 5. Snack bar at the pool is good and staff lovely. 6. There is access to a gym in the sister hotel down the road which is a bonus. Cons & suggestions for improvement: 1. Customer service: There was a mix up whereby the hotel forgot we were arriving a day later despite informing them in advance by email and phone. We had been travelling since early that morning and arrived at 3pm (check in time) but had to wait an hour before a room was arranged for us with no offer of a drink or anything in that time. As this was the hotel’s error, this could and should have been dealt with better. As a relatively expensive hotel with 4 stars, you would expect better service in times like that. 2. Dinner food is really bad. We tried twice and ended up eating out every night after that. 3. Pool opens at 9am but there were queues to reserve sunbeds from near 8am due to the design of the hotel (the beds are in the shade until about 12.30pm unless you get one in the first or second row!)

Hotel Angela on beach front & close bars & shops etc , Hotel looks nice from outside & communal areas , but is let down by the rooms , need up dating & a proper deep clean as ours was quite mucky & grubby especially in bathroom & never really got cleaned properly when were there either ( have put review into hotel & complaint into tui), also needs a better seating area outside for evening only 4 table sets & sofa buts ends up been full of smokers/vapers needs a area for non smokers on a evening really , also stated as adult only when we booked in tui & advertised as adult on here but apparently now after seeing some kids there we asked & its now classed as adult focused but kids can be there , shouldn’t advertise as adult only then , nothing against kids but we have done kids holidays & chose to go adult only but it wasn’t, kids there a few times running about when we were there , overall we had a good holiday in Fuengirola for the first time but disappointed by the Hotel especially the cleanliness of rooms /bathrooms !! I have phots which sent to hotel & tui. The restaurant staff were also quite rude and abrupt wanting to take plates away before I had even finished eating the food that was in my mouth this happened many a time. Another thing is that the hotel is advertised for having an indoor pool and spar this must have been overlooked as it was no where to be found, I was told by other guests that the indoor pool was blocked off years ago so that was very disappointing.
