We got back yesterday from a really lovely week staying at The Palmasol, our room was clean, with fresh towels daily, and housekeeping daily, check in was fast and reception staff were all very friendly, we were on a half board basis, we usually do not use this for evening meal but we did as the food selection was very nice, lots of choices, and as the resort was very quite in the evening it worked well for us, breakfast choice was also good, the staff in the restaurant were all super efficient and very friendly, it was a really good service. There is a good size pool and other facilities which we did not use as we were out and about during the day. The hotel is in a good position, right near the marina, easy access to good walks around the town. We walked to Paloma park which was very lovely, also we walked to Arroyo de la Miel, which is the main part of the town with nice places to eat and lovely Spanish squares to stop and rest, the train station and cable cars are also there. We got the bus easy enough to Benalmadena Pueblo, gorgeous, to Mijas Pueblo, very gorgeous and to Malaga to see the city and the fabulous Christmas light show. In all honesty this holiday, a cheeky week away before Christmas was much better than I thought it would be, a lovely place to visit, in winter especially, as it is quieter, and the weather was super nice! warm and sunny every day, a little chillier in the evening but a jacket sorted that out. We booked a room with garden view, there is a building site across the way at the front, which really was not a bother as we overlooked the pool and garden area. We will return to this hotel if we should return to this area, Thank you to the staff for a lovely stay.

“Bargain winter break to the sun.”

Our week away with Jet2 to this hotel was amazing value for money. We didn't expect much but it was worth every penny plus some. The food was absolutely yummy. Our week away with Jet2 to this hotel was amazing value for money. We didn't expect much but it was worth every penny plus some. The food was absolutely yummy. Spoilt for choice and of course tempting to eat too much! We were also lucky with the weather. So great to feel warm after very chilly UK. The buses were handy. We went into Malaga to see the lights (again). Better than ever. We changed dinner for lunch that day. Benalmadena not for us.(But we knew this). We escaped most days to other places. Easy to do. Our room was serviced each day. So clean. The aspect was local block of flats - no sun or view. Staff a big tick. All of them. Thanks to the Reception staff, the Rep and Ian on Help Desk who managed to get our red case back to us in record speed when left on the coach! Much appreciated.

“Lovely hotel.”

Bed was lovely, Room cleaned every day, all staff were pleasant and accommodating. Location lent itself to getting out and about, 2 minute walk to marina, shops and restaurants. Wrong time of the year to use the pool, but cleaned everyday. Building site opposite the front of the hotel

I am an inexperiened traveller so have not stayed in a lot of hotels although I did work in a large hotel chain for a number of years. I've given 4 due to a few minor issues that can be easily rectified, some mentioned in other visitor reviews. 1 Food. i had avery good deal on half board. Breakfast-if I took hot food there I am veggie/vegan so only had hash browns/fried tomatoes/mushrooms/roast veg. Cold food cereals/dried-fresh fruit/nuts/yoghurt. Dinner-usually pasta/sauce veggies/salad/advocado. Hot food I took was luke warm/cold-I like piping hot food also plates were smallish and flat so occasionally something would fall off the plate e.g. sauces/tomatoes. I bought a pasta bowl the next day from a charity shop the next day and used that, I also found the microwave a couple of days later so that solved the issue of getting proper hot food. A fellow visitor commented that the meats were brick hard. POSITIVES- great selection, well laid out, I loved what I ate including the varios sweet option/rustic bread and cheeses. 2 CLEANLINESS-Public areas looked really clean however definite room issues. I clean as part of my job and it's amazing what you see sitting on the toilet. What I thought was mould on the grout/tile ledges/sink piping was dirt. Also I dropped something on the floor, very obvious no deep clean had been done under the beds before the handover to me. POSITIVES-Cleaning staff were very pleasant and asked me daily if I wanted my room clean or a linen change. Having worked in the industry I know that these cleaners are given instructions from someone sitting behind a desk to get a room done in so meny minutes in an impossible time scale. So who ever that is you show the cleaning staff how to throughly do what you expect them to do in the allocated time. I look forward to seeing how you get on. 3 GYM- excellent gym for a hotel. I do functional training/olympic lifting-enough there to keep me ticking over. Bar collars required for the 20kg bar. Staff were fantastic/really helpful and helped me with my Spanish attempts. I hope to return in Feb 2025 for a 2 week language course in the area. Great location easy walking/bike hire hire, bus access, airport 25 mins away. Cheers George
