The rooms are exceptionally small, as is the balcony. We struggled with 3 of us in one room. Previous reviews said no kettle, so we took one, to find they did have one in our room. You do need your own tea and coffee though. Small fridge was a god send. Bathroom was minute, literally no room to swing a cat. Sink was very slow to empty and there wasn’t a toilet brush. Plenty of subbed, although a queue until it opens at 10am. Food was excellent, something for everyone. We were half board but used flexi and had lunch instead. Plenty of choice. If you are wanting a steak I recommend Rodeo steak house- 10 mins walk from hotel. Some reviews said staff were unfriendly and rude- not our experience, with exception to bar staff who did appear rude. Big downfall to this hotel, is that children can not use anything in the pool, no balls or inflatables allowed- they have to make their own fun, which we thought was a bit much. Entertainment is a bit on the slow side, not much going on, and when it did, it was basic. Other than the size of the room and bathroom this was a great stay- but due to room size, we would be put off booking again, but in general it was a good, central localised hotel.

The negative reviews that are circulating are largely unjustified. It is true that the hotel is showing signs of wear and tear, and that staffing levels could be higher to alleviate the perceived queuing problem. However, anybody who uses town or city centre pubs and jostles for attention at the bar would not complain at the minor inconvenience of a 10 minute civilised queuing alternative to that commonplace experience on a night out. We more often found that service was within a couple of minutes and the staff were courteous, attentive and friendly. There are more than enough sunbeds around the pool and if you want to stand in a morning queue for the opening at 10 o'clock you have a better chance of obtaining a preferred location, but if you stroll down at 10:05 you will still have a sunbed that is perfectly suitable. The hotels biggest problem is that there are far too many arrogant, over expectant guests. The hotels biggest success is its hard working staff. The cafe/restaurant/ bar staff are essentially the same people working long hours and displaying excellent patience and professionalism for guests that underappreciate their efforts. ( Perhaps managers underappreciate their staff too, although my impression was that managers were equally attentive and professional ) There is a rich variety of family groups, ages, nationalities, and backgrounds amongst guests and it is clear that the hotel is trying to cater for all. The Animacion team is hardworking and enthusiastic, and the entertainment programme is reflective of the varied clientele. The food on offer is good quality at all times and I was glad that I upgraded to all inclusive board upon arrival.

not enough staff so queue - need to ask for room to be made up - no drawers in room - take your own kettle if you want an early morning tea/coffee - take your own hangers On the plus side this hotel is in an ideal position just back from the marina .- the pool area is very nice but not enough parasols - food for adults is varied but not for picky children - open areas are clean and tidy - indoor lounge is comfortable - easy way through the gardens down to the harbour and out the front door and up the little hill to lots more shops and the bus route

Starting with the good - The Meals are as good as you would get anywhere and could even be better than others. Apart from one person in the restaurant who spoke to me very rudely and one of the staff at the pool area everyone else was polite. The bad points are you have to queue to get into the restaurant then queue for your food too. You have to join a massive queue to get served at the Bar, often with one person serving and making cocktails, which takes a long time to make (longest queue so far was 28 in front of me and quite a wait) Table service would really improve things a lot. The rooms are very small - we upgraded to a bigger room but still not one single drawer in the room. They play music really loud around the pool (my noise cancelling headphones can't drown out the noise) I checked the SPL at constant 90db and peaks of 97db at a distance of 25M (I'm a musician and this is louder than I play) I complained and was very rudely told he would not turn the volume down and to sit somewhere quieter if I didn't like it, there was nowhere else to sit, I never got to tell him that I also objected to his Gangsta style playlist containing sexual and homeopathic content before he walked away. The other staff around the pool play at a lower volume and are very polite. I really don't know why hotels think they have to blast out music around the pool area at all. which brings me onto my final point: you have to queue for the 10.00 am opening of the pool area and join in with the subbed wars because the pool area is not big enough for everyone in the hotel. There is building work on a new site in front of the hotel but as long as your room doesn't overlook it then it not such a problem.
