“Really good stay”

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Alay. We had a delayed flight so arrived early evening on 28 December but the receptionist was really pleasant and friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Alay. We had a delayed flight so arrived early evening on 28 December but the receptionist was really pleasant and friendly. We had a room on the 12th floor with a great sea view as well as the mountain, we absolutely loved the balcony and the wonderful views. I had read other reviews about there not being tea or coffee making facilities in the room, this is easily rectified by taking a travel kettle and your own coffee so not a problem for us. The room and bathroom were immaculate and very clean. The walk in shower was great. I know that some reviewers have complained about the building works. This didn't affect us because of where we were although I could hear noise if I went into the bathroom, also because it was NY they didn't start working until 2 January. Breakfast was very good, a really good choice of food to suit everyone. The location of the hotel is also very good, just yards away from the marina with a never ending choice of different restaurants. I would absolutely go back to the Alay and would recommend it.

“No complaints”

This hotel is located on the edge of Torromelinos, it is modern and bright. The rooms are very clean and the staff friendly and helpful. The food was buffet style but something for everyone and in my opinion very good. I like the live cooking station and had a freshly made omelette there every day… more

This hotel is located on the edge of Torromelinos, it is modern and bright. The rooms are very clean and the staff friendly and helpful. The food was buffet style but something for everyone and in my opinion very good. I like the live cooking station and had a freshly made omelette there every day. There are lots of areas for sunbathing on glazed terraces. The hotel was full when I was there over Christmas and there was no opportunity to change rooms - there us major building work happening next to the hotel which was very noisy, fortunately no building noise on Christmas Day. Very good DJ, saxophonist and violinist when we went into dinner. I am ready to book for next Christmas as I had a great time 😃

Some of the reception staff where rude, we got a room at the back where building works stared at 8 every morning, ask to changed rooms got told because we where a late booking that’s what we get, but found out later other English guests where the same, told the same as use, the dj playing music definitely like the Spanish guests where 🤦‍♀️, hotel was clean and smelled lovely, bath/shower was a totally impossible structure, small bath with sliding doors on it made it very hard work to get into, no kettle or tea/coffee, but you do get a fridge🤦‍♀️🙄, I wouldn’t come back here one man receptionist was rude, we where also told we couldn’t check in till 2 but we seen others checked in before 12 by a lady receptionist,

The hotel over all was good but unfortunately simple things were really bad, staff shortages or just not bothered, also no respect from a few. There was no tea or coffee facilities in the room, which I don't understand. The food on Christmas day, which was supposed to be special was not and if you went down towards the end of time there was not a lot left. Every day the lack of choice especially vegetables was terrible. Will not be recommending this hotel, go to the Riviera instead, much better.
