This is a very large hotel set just behind the beach and very worthy of its 4* rating. Islantilla is a purpose built seaside holiday resort, which I am sure is quite busy during the summer holiday months, but when we visited in early autumn was quite quiet with few people about in the town or walking along the boardwalk behind the hotel. The spaces inside the hotel are enormous with balconies draped with plants that soften the edges as they spill into the atrium. All rooms open outwards from the inside space giving outward views. Each room is fitted with everything the visitor would need for a short stay and with comfortable sleeping arrangements. I enjoyed the efficient A/C which kept the room at a comfortable temperature throughout our stay. There was plenty of comfortable seating in the downstairs bar area and reception for quiet reading or chatting to friends and in the outside garden area. Although we did not use the pool during our stay it was extensive and surrounded by a well cared for garden laid out with colourful shrubs. The restaurant food at breakfast and dinner was wonderful and we had no complaints. Breakfast selection was extensive and suitable for all tastes. Evening meals are served at 8pm, which is a little late for us, but were full of marvellous selections of cold and hot dishes that highlighted the creativity of the head chef and his team. Overall our stay was very comfortable and we came away with a very favourable impression of Spanish hospitality.

Lovely hotel, deserves the 4 star rating plus! Mainly great staff, the odd one didn’t seem to like the British, but most were amazing including the facilities room staff, Spa reception and masseuse, pool bar person, restaurant chefs when requesting bespoke fresh items, waiting staff, reception all helped make the stay fantastic. The cleanliness was as expected, everywhere was bright and fresh with internal atriums, mirroring the outside greenery inside with palms and creeping plants. Nice complimentary bathroom bits like comb, sewing kit, etc, plus shampoo, conditioner, hand soap and lotion, so we didn’t touch ours as good quality products. Beds were comfortable, plus extra quilts and blankets in the cupboard if needed ( wasn’t) . Pool was a perfect temperature and not excessive chlorine, loads of loungers as quieter when we stayed. The breakfast and evening buffets were fantastic with a great selection, the fish was just amazing and cooked almost to order, no mass cooked volumes, just topped up as needed, so sometimes meant a couple of minutes wait, but so much better than loads kept on hot plates. Overall as you may have guessed if still reading, an amazing stay and wouldn’t hesitate re-booking!

“Beautiful hotel but ? Sea view.”

Only criticism I have is that when you sit on the balcony, you can't actually see any view because of the black metal woven balcony front. We thought at first it was only our balcony but they are all the same.

Fabulous looking hotel with such a lovely pool and on the beach, but water in pool was very cold, pool bar had 6 flights of steps to walk up with no ramp that I could see so very hard getting back down with drinks in hand, cocktails was a disaster made with packet stuff, sangria very watered down only had 1 of each so brought drink in had no choice as there is not much around except a handful of shops and about 4 restaraunts with mainly all fish dishes same as hotel but hotel food was very cold no warm plates so by time you got back to your table your food was stone cold. Would not return .
