“Basic but good enough”

As with many others, I booked this hotel for its price and proximity to Gibraltar. As we only really wanted somewhere to sleep, we just wanted clean, close and safe and I can happily say we got all those things. As a couple, we were put on a triple room randomly, but it was nice to have a lot of space. We were left bottled water in the room and there were tea and coffee making facilities which we didn't use. Room remained clean with towels changed and beds made etc. Yes, the hotel is a bit tired, but if just using as a base to sleep then this wasn't a problem due to the price. We had the breakfast 3 mornings and it was fine. Nothing special but nice enough to fuel up on. The hot food wasn't the best, but the meats, cheeses, yogurts and pastries were lovely. It was the same every day, so I think for the price and variety I don't think I would get this again. However, I am planning another Gibraltar trip next year and will definitely use this hotel again as my base.

nice & huge hotel ; in south spain near the boarder of gibraltar (great britain). location is excellent ; between the city center & gibraltar. lobby is too small but in first floor many seating areas with huge screen ; full service bar ; rooms & bathrooms are huge ; beginning from 2 floor to 6 . some rooms sea view or city view. with shampoo & shower gel. breakfast is excellent with all fresh items & eggs/omelette station; dinner is excellent too - as we ate 2 times with our group don't miss the moroccan chef mr. husein / he made the maximum efforts to bring halal food for the muslim group. the staff is helpful & polite ; english speaking ; of course coming back

We choose this hotel due to its proximity to Gibraltar border which was the purpose of this segment of our trip to Spain. With this regard, the location is excellent. When we booked the hotel, we expected basic but clean. We experienced basic only. You get an idea of what you are ubout to experience the moment you enter into the hotel's lobby -there were dry leaves all over the lobby floor. The carpets in the corridors were covered with countless greasy, dirty spots (someone needs to tell the hotel the steam-cleaning machines have long been invented). The room was dusty, not aired, the bath tub was not sufficiently clean, and the chairs and the table outside were outright disgustingly dirty. I used my desinfectant wipes and cleaned the surfaces. Even after I showed the hotel picture of the room, nothing has been done to rectify the issue. Disappointing customer service! The mattress was as hard as The Rock! In all of our years of travelling we have never slept on such a bad mattress! Out of our 16 nights in Andalusia, we were sincerely glad we had to only spend 2 nights at this hotel, and 2 were too many for us! The only positive experience was the breakfast - good variety, plenty of choices for every taste. We will not return to this hotel.
