My wife and I stayed at Plaza de la Luz for two nights as part of a trip from Gibraltar, and onward to Seville. Modern comfortable spacious room with a good ensuite. There is two seater sofa and a TV. There is a laundry room which you can use if you provide your own washing powder... The buffet breakfast is very good served in a property next door. Plaza de la Luz is close to the beach / bay, great tapas bars, and walking distance to central Cadiz. All the staff we came across were very polite, and freindly, giving advice on places to visit, and where they are on a map provided. They allowed us to leave our luggage in a secure area near the reception after checking out whilw we did our final visit to central Cadiz before travelling to Seville by train later in the day. Excellent value.

“Fab location!”

Arriving I pulled up outside for my wife to nip inside and ask the directions for the car park. Minutes later she arrived back with a map and directions, it was less than five minutes away! Arriving I pulled up outside for my wife to nip inside and ask the directions for the car park. Minutes later she arrived back with a map and directions, it was less than five minutes away! Check in was easy (we had pre checked in). Our room was in a different block about four doors down in the same street. The room was large with everything we needed including a kitchenette and a separate bathroom. Shower was good and everything really clean. It’s in a great location right in the middle of the old town (fisherman’s area), famous for its Tapas bars. We went on a pre booked Tapas walking tour and all three bars were less than four minutes away. The Cathedral was about ten minutes away, the Caleta beach about four minutes away. We highly recommend this hotel due its location and cleanliness.

An excellent location between the waterfront and the narrow streets of the old town. Our room, 6125, was on the second floor away from the lift. With the windows closed we had no noise, but were left reliant on a not very cool air conditioner fixed at 24 degrees - in my case a little too high for comfort. If I stayed again I might request an electric fan. We hugely enjoyed shared use of the third-floor outdoor terrace with views to the sea. Don't miss the sunset. Another huge bonus is the laundry with washer drier. No coins or any of that nonsense, although instructions are in Spanish. Inevitably I ended up the wash-that-never-ends but the receptionist was kind and helpful, even phoning a friend for advice. Also, you might need to buy your own laundry liquid. The low point was breakfast. Limited fruit and cereal and bread not to our taste.As we were staying for a few days stocked up at a supermarket. Cadiz itself is said to be struggling economically through loss of jobs and opportunities, with younger people leaving in search of these. However the place has a great spirit. The cathedral has a calm, warm and welcoming atmosphere after the rich glories of Granada, Cordoba and Seville.
