We, 2, stayed at this hotel After visiting Almeria. The staff were fantastic, helpful, friendly and very eager to please.(thank you Fatima :) We were greeted at the reception by a friendly man who showed us to our room. The place has an open courtyard where One couldn sit and eat or chill at Night or during the day. No breakfast is provided but the hotel is located just steps away from many restaurants, shops and the main town itself. Just minutes walk to the Marina where there are also restaurants, at a more expensive price. The hotel room was VERY clean, comfortable bed, air conditioning, bidet, towels, soap and toilets paper. IF you really want a balcony, just ask for one. Access to San Jose beach is just minutes away by foot. Thank you all soooooo much for your hospitality. Will be back. Highly Recommended!!!

Despite the negative reviews other people have made. We find this lovely Hotel just perfect. traditional Spanish resort. All staff very helpful and friendly. George the caretaker is just a lovely and a welcoming person. We had our small dog and George had no problem when we asked him if we could put our dog's food in a fridge. I recommend this hotel if anyone visits San Jose..

“Two good nights in San Jose”

We traveled from Granada towards Alicante and wanted to explore Cabo de Gata and San Jose. It’s a small hotel and despite the negative comments in other reviews we found the staff friendly and yes the caretaker was special. Our room (no 26) was on the 1st floor with a small balcony towards the courtyard. Rooms was clean including bathroom and beds good. Air-condition and internet worked as expected (better internet that many other Spanish hotels). We missed a refrigerator and water boiler but hey it’s a small 2-star hotel. Positive surprise was the parking beside the hotel. Breakfast was included but that was just food. Juice and a ham/cheese baguette, we tried it the first day and then we went over to the restaurant on the opposite side the next day. All in all, we had a pleasant 2 night stay in San Jose/Atalaya, plenty of restaurants/bars around and just a short walk to the beach.
