We had a week's stay with me, my daughter and cousin to celebrate their birthdays. We were booked into room 1111 (triple design room) in the main building but upon entering, we quickly realised that it was far too small. There were 2 single beds and a pull-out sofa but with three ladies with suitcases and nowhere to put them except for the floor, and generally wanted to walk in the room without scraping the walls to get from one end to another, we asked for an upgrade. That night, with the Euros (football) taking place, our neighbours (men – two or three of them) decided that they would sing drunkenly and very loudly football songs before passing out. This room must have had an upgrade because the bathroom was really nice with a walk-in shower and large sink. There was also a balcony that we could sit outside in but we didn’t get the chance to use it. So, we spoke to Sara on Reception (very good service, who made us feel very welcome) and paid for an upgraded to a 2-bedroom suite. Huge difference in terms of space with the entrance being the dressing area, the two bedrooms and bathroom led off this. Both rooms had French style patio doors and balcony and our room overlooked the swimming pool in the main block. So this is the few things that we spoke about this hotel: 1. There was no kettle for tea & coffee making facilities. This was even more apparent because one of the days it rained and being stuck in your room with no way of even making a hot drink made a difference. Also, we had to check out of our room at 5.15am so having a kettle would have allowed us to have at least a cup of coffee before we left. 2. The bathroom – this was definitely an older bathroom style with an over the bath shower. unfortunately, the shower screen was not large enough and water went everywhere when we had a shower. We wondered why the room attendant left so many towels; it was for the floor to mop up the water. 3. The bedding – there was a mattress protector that had a plastic feel, so the sheet on top kept slipping. Then there was a sheet, followed by another sheet, a naked quilt on top of that with another sheet on top. In the main room, the quilt was dirty, so I had to ask for another quilt. The bedding was a mess with too many sheets. 4. Second bedroom only had a sofa-bed that was larger than the double bed in the main bedroom. The first couple of nights was fine, but afterwards, it was not comfortable. They would have been better making that room as a bedroom and putting two single beds in there. A sofa is not needed. 5. Swimming pool – bring your own beach towel. I have never stayed in a hotel that has a pool and not to supply you with towels for the pool area. My daughter had to buy one. By the way, the pool is not heated so be warned – it is very cold. 6. Breakfast – the team are very friendly. Basically the same meal but each day they changed certain items to mix it up a bit. But the restaurant is very nice, bright and modern. The special touch of having prosecco and fresh orange juice was the best, we made sure to toast a happy birthday and sometimes, just because we could – we liked this touch – thank you 7. Reception, as I mentioned previously, Sara was very helpful and was able to book us taxi, advise on the bus timetables (it is literally a few minutes away from the hotel) and day trips. And Daniel – night manager was on hand to unlock the doors for us and welcome us each night after a hard day sight seeing or just generally having a good time. Overall, despite the list above, we enjoyed our stay, and the holiday was very nice. It is located in a semi-residential area. Within 5 mins, you are on a plaza like street (no cars allowed) but plenty of restaurants, shops that leads you down to the beach. In one directly are more restaurants but the other side are the nightclubs. If the techno rave music is your scene, then you will enjoy it 😊 When you go to the beach, if you have water shoes, I strongly recommend that you wear them. The beach is small pebbles that really hurt your feet, it is not sand. The coach/bus station is 5 mins in the other direction. You can take a bus directly into Barcelona from here, the journey is just over 1 hour. I would recommend this hotel, I would not call it 4 star but a good 3 star best describes it. And if you are from the UK where we like our cuppas, ask for a kettle in your room, bring your own pool towels and enjoy, it’s a great area.

“A nice hotel in a busy area”

We stayed here for a week in June and found this to be a really lovely hotel. We had a very nice room with excellent housekeeping. Great reception staff. Breakfast was brilliant with lots of choice, although the staff were very keen to seat you, rather than let you choose your own table - we just moved seats anyway and nobody seem to mind. My only gripe with breakfast was that there wasn’t a conveyor type toast machine - just a couple of four-slice toasters. This caused quite a bit of waiting around for toaster slots to become available. This hotel is in the middle of the town and there is a lot of traffic noise. Cars and mopeds are passing by from dawn until dusk. Our room overlooked a Tapas bar so we also had a bit of noise coming from their garden on a night time too, as our balcony door wasn’t very soundproof. The pool is nice but quite small and there isn’t a massive area around the pool. I only counted about 20 sun loungers which wasn’t many for a hotel of this size. Some days we went to the beach instead, just a short walk away, but the beach gets crowded and is very gravelly, so not terribly comfortable to lie on. I personally didn’t like the music that the hotel was constantly playing in the public areas… big hits slowed down and sang R&B style in a Donald Duck voice! Maybe this is the latest trend or maybe they are trying to cater for everybody. It’s worth noting that this is a very busy town with masses of shops and bars. The roads around the hotel are very narrow and not accessible to coaches. The transfer coach will drop guests on the main strip, a 10 minute walk away, so you do need to walk to and from the hotel through the streets.
