“Best week ever”

Had the best week ever, the holiday reps are so friendly and really made my holiday fun, would come back in a heartbeat. So sad to be going home I never want to leave.and the games have made my holiday the best <3 so many good things to say about this hotel and the whole experience

“Great hotel”

Years ago I visited this hotel with my family and now I came back and was very happy with the services that the hotel provides. Friendly staff, good food and clean rooms. Furthermore not far from the main street with shops and near to the beach.

Yes, its true. We stayed for just over a week in the middle of May. Some of the days it was just far too hot in the rooms. Apparently the air conditioning is not turned on until later in the year, summer months. This is not reasonable. The three neighbouring RH Hotels, Royal, Princesa, Victoria, all did have their air conditioning on. We checked. The Poseidon Resort is an above average mid range 3 star hotel. During the summer months it has a lot to offer, and in terms of value, is very reasonably priced. The food is a bit disappointing. Whatever your interests, the hotel is ideally positioned. In hotter weather, both pools are quite idyllic. The 'towels on sunchair mafia' are unfortunately in their element. Returning to the air conditioning issue. There are a good number of other hotels that do not switch on until the end of June. I would recommend that guests should check with hotel or provider about the air conditioning, if you are travelling in May or June. If you ask a hotel and do not get a reply, I can tell you that this means that the air conditioning is not on.

“disappointing this time”

Just a 4 day trip, to celebrate a birthday, and perfect timing. Arrival day , 14th May, was the first of a 2 day heat wave. Really hot for May, and people were using the pools. We were allocated a room in Hotel Poseidon, and were alarmed at the temperature in the room, 27 degrees. Pool side sees about 2 hours less sun each day, and we had asked for a room this side, but no. Then we discovered that the air conditioning was not working. We explained the problem to reception, who told us that the air conditioning is not switched on until the summer months. We were provided with a big fan, which was incredibly noisy, but kept the room temperature down until we went to bed. On the third and fourth days the temperature dropped a bit. Nice to sunbathe , but not hot enough for outdoor pools. No problem, Hotel Poseidon Palace has one of the best indoor pools. Unfortunately, probably because of the recent weather, the water was freezing cold, much colder than the outdoor pool. Most people changed their minds once they had put a foot in the water. This was my 31st say at the hotel, and never before has the indoor pool been totally unheated. Food and restaurant. The Restaurant Manager, is a charming man, always a nice greeting and will help when he can. These days the food is probably average, at best. In the past, I have stayed a month at a time, and had no trouble eating each meal. Unfortunately, since the pandemic, the food is not as good and we are occasionally forced to eat out. A small thing at breakfast time, but still very irritating (and unnecessary ??). Somebody decides that, about every 2 or 3 days, there are to be no fried eggs. No notice given. Is this really necessary?? Lounge Bar and Entertainment. A really good size, and although the entertainment is not really for us, it is very well attended. Bar prices are very reasonable. Another small moan, is the fruit machine. Well used by the guests, but it always seems to be the same Spanish lady that wins. A Spanish couple suggested to us, that the lady isn't even a guest at the hotel. My partner swears that she has seen the lady during our last 5 or 6 stays. She might be right. The hotel complex is superbly positioned in the centro area. Close to beach and the old town. Bus stops are about 2 minutes walk. A perfect base to go exploring. During summer months, pool areas are really good. The Poseidon pool, area includes an updated children's area. The Poseidon Palace has a wonderful lagoon style pool. Despite the disappointments, I still think the hotel is very fairly priced, and can be incredibly good value.
