I don’t understand the negative reviews. We found the hotel to be spotlessly clean. Friendly staff and breakfast was superb. Someone complaining about no smoking, well most people would agree with this. There are designated areas for smokers and why not? I for one don’t want to be surrounded by people smoking.

“Fantastic hotel, staff, food and location”

This hotel is perfect. Amazing staff nothing is too much trouble. They decorated my son’s room for his birthday. Rooms are immaculate. Breakfast buffet fantastic with many options. Great location. This hotel is perfect. Amazing staff nothing is too much trouble. They decorated my son’s room for his birthday. Rooms are immaculate. Breakfast buffet fantastic with many options. Great location. Try D-Vora old town for dinner if you fancy a walk, the old town is not even 15 mins. Poseidon is in a quiet location the beach opposite the hotel is quiet and so clean. I don’t understand reviews saying Brits don’t go here as we found the staff and Spanish guests lovely, especially if you attempt Spanish. Noelia on reception , Innes at breakfast and breakfast waiter Martello deserve a special mention. Highly recommended for cleanliness, location, food and staff.

The hotel was in a beautiful location with all rooms having a sea view. The rooms are spacious and spotlessly clean. Plenty of choice for breakfast but the one evening meal we had was quite poor with little choice. Two problems we found, there is nowhere to get a drink of water around the hotel ... more

The hotel was in a beautiful location with all rooms having a sea view. The rooms are spacious and spotlessly clean. Plenty of choice for breakfast but the one evening meal we had was quite poor with little choice. Two problems we found, there is nowhere to get a drink of water around the hotel without buying it and there are no tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms. The staff were all pleasant and helpful. Evening entertainment was a bit non-descript. On the whole it’s a very nice hotel and I would stay there again.

6 mature retired males travelled together to the Poseidon Playa Hotel. Upon checking in, the reception staff retained our passports which was fine but we later found out they would not be returned until security checked our three rooms to ensure we hadn't caused any damage! Similarly, when we checked out we had to wait at reception at 7am in the morning until a security man checked each of the 3 twin rooms before passports were returned. We weren't there for a stag night just three days in the sun. It just goes to show what the hotel has had to put up with in the past. The hotel was lovely with fantastic views over the pool area and the beautiful sandy beach which was simply across the road. All rooms face the sea. We chose bed and breakfast only as we wanted to explore the old town restaurants. The food we had was varied and plenty some. Staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms are air conditioned although ours was on full most of the time. The balcony was a decent size and great to sit and take in the views. Most of the people staying here seemed to be Spanish which must be a good sign. Its quite a long walk into the old town and we walked our legs of with about 21k steps each day. I would certainly stay there again and at this time of year (early June).
