“Not for families but nonetheless fab!”

We’ve just returned from a 7 day stay here and it’s amazing - more positives than negatives for sure but definitely consider the children point! “Crashing waves you cannot beat the sound!!”

Lovely and clean, staff welcoming. Food good quality and varied, but food needs to be hotter. We travelled with our 18 month old son and loved it but do not travel here with kids any older. This hotel in my opinion should be adults only. The rooms are beautiful, even though we overlooked a car park we could still see and hear the sea! The hotel and pool setting in particular are beautiful and very clean. You can walk directly onto a pebble beach and the sea swimming is lovely! One to note that October is classed as out of season so the shuttle to Altea doesn’t run (but it is walkable and very flat if you only want to go to the new town. The old town is a hill but that’s regardless) and the air conditioning is switched off - which for us was a big problem however, guest relations quickly provided us with a fan which sorted the problem immediately! We met some lovely couples with older kids and they were great and polite but even when they were playing very nicely you could see that the others in the hotel were offended by their presence- and this is backed up by the recent reviews who I presume were there at the same time as us - there really is nothing standard for kids. This changed at Halloween - but still those booking seemed offended by the presence of the children. I appreciate this is a problem with the guests and not the hotel but personally I feel like the hotel creates an atmosphere for adults and in such I couldn’t really blame the guests! It very much has a quiet reserved atmosphere- and this is compromised when you have children- but without any entertainment I wouldn’t recommend it for anyone with children over 2. We loved it and it had enough for our 18 month old - with a baby pool but anyone older in my opinion wouldn’t have enough going on - and for this reason we wouldn’t return. The location is great and we often used the tren in Altea to Benidorm which was easy to navigate and so cheap! Although we preferred the Spanish feel of Altea (Benidorm isn’t really us) if you want something more to do (for children and the like) or the weather isn’t great - you’d find practically anything you can think of in Benidorm, although it really is Blackpool in the sun! The bus system is also great, so would recommend getting out and about. The old town is particularly stunning. The drinks are cheap enough (more pricey for cocktails but that’s standard 3/4 euros for a wine or beer) and the food is stunning! Local restaurants we found in Altea and further on in albir always provided good food too, there are some hidden gems left out of the hotel too, and a nice walk along the front too! Overall amazing food, great hotel and if you’re a couple looking for a relaxing quiet chilled break do not hesitate- if you have kids or want more going on - go elsewhere..
