Mainly Spanish food at suppertime (We are in Spain)! Was warned of cold plates by our courier. Ideal base for surrounding places to visit each day.

“A decent hotel of the type to match a fairly soul-less town but good beaches”

We travelled out of season (June) when it was mostly Spaniards spending Sunday on the beach. We had been to Suances over 50 years ago when it was a tiny village with great beaches. All the quaintness that has been swept away in favour of a totally modern, bland resort - with great beaches. The hotel fits in with the resort. Perfectly nice, with a good bathroom and excellent view over the beach, but not much character. Reasonable price. We turned up on spec and had to hang around around a while as there was no-one in reception (or answering any call.) We ate breakfast only in their restaurant-across-the-courtyard. We knew there was a group leaving early so we waited until they were gone but the gannets had eaten everything and it took some time before the staff were able to clear away and get things moving again. (Not their fault - but be aware of the groups issue.) After that the breakfast was fine and they cooked us eggs - which is not always the case in Spanish 'included' breakfasts. As mentioned elsewhere - plenty of parking (at least, out of season.) A hotel that can be recommended but not enthused over.

“It was great value for money out of season - well-sized room overlooking beach and sea and a really good breakfast”

Out of season most room rates are negotiable. The receptionist spoke good English and was very helpful. There is abundant street parking close to the hotel and a choice of places to eat. The hotel is modern and well cared for.

We recently stayed at La Concha, as part of a tour. The hotel is in a nice location, some rooms overlooking the beach in a fairly quiet resort but it is not well served by public transport. It is run by a lovely family and has some good and very helpful staff. The bar was quite nice, with a picturesque terrace under the vines, and the drinks are good value. The rooms were pretty comfortable, a bit brightly coloured, but I thought the lack of soap was a bit of a shame...also my aircon did not work. The biggest problem was the lack of any hairdryers in the rooms and getting hold of one became a bit of an issue....we have been told that they will fit them in each room at some point in future. We had been unable to get hold of any one on the phone, before travelling, as had we known we would have brought our own! The food was a bit hit or miss, some of it very tasty and fresh, some less so and there was a distinct lack of free veg and salad, and not much fruit. This may have been linked to the deal that we had. Overall, it was pleasant and relaxing and with a few improvements, it could be lovely...
