“Central located, clean budget lodgings in Santander”
The hospedaje is one floor of a building just a street way from the main city thoroughfare, offering basic but clean rooms. The hospedaje is one floor of a building just a street way from the main city thoroughfare, offering basic but clean rooms. The entrance is via a shared door but the reception area is clearly signed and the receptionist spoke good English. The room was very clean but a little bland, TV only had Spanish channels. The Wifi was relatively quick, enough bandwidth for streaming. Santander was an interesting stop over on the way home. It improved once the sun came out. The museum of archeology was more interesting than I had imagined and the tour of the Magdalena Palace appeared fascinating, if only my Spanish was better. They did give me a guide to help but I think I missed a lot of the detail.

The only big downgrade: the bed linen too small for the mattress size, we arrived to sleep on the mattress protection cover in the morning! And the linen covering the blanket was small, impossible to keep covered the blanket!

“good location”
good location on the very edge of the old town. access required check in online and given a key code to the front door. reception is on second floor up 15 step . lift from there. rooms are large rooms split into 3 -smaller the premier inn size . bathromm all working. quiet for our visit.

“Bargain in a great location”
Amazing location, lady at reception was nice and the room was clean. The room could have used a second bin (there was only a small one in the bathroom) and there was no fridge or safe. The building has an elevator which is handy. For the cost it was an absolute bargain.

“Unfussy and comfortable”
It must be said this is a very basic hotel but, at the same time, it has absolutely everything you need for a comfortable stay. It is a very short drive from the ferry and we decided to stay in town for one night before heading off south. It proved to be a good decision and this made a great base.… more
It must be said this is a very basic hotel but, at the same time, it has absolutely everything you need for a comfortable stay. It is a very short drive from the ferry and we decided to stay in town for one night before heading off south. It proved to be a good decision and this made a great base. It has its own parking 120m away so stop outside the hotel, put on your hazard warning lights, and go and get the keys. It is a relief to get rid of the car as parking is a nightmare around town. It is wonderfully located for the old town and all the excellent bars and restaurants and sites to see. These are literally 10 minutes walk and you are a bus ride from the beach. The room was very basic but very comfortable and has free Wi-Fi. We slept really well and got very little noise from outside. In terms of value for money it is excellent and if we stayed in Santander air again we would come back.
