Enjoyable stay with very nice SPA. Liked · Many people complain about the apartments but the hotel is well protected and clean. Amazing spa with view. Big rooms with spacious terrace. Nice staff. Disliked · 1. Far from the city - the small turisty train broke we needed to walk. 2. Air freshener in the room - it was not nice smell and very intense. 3. Mosquitos - DONT LEAVE YOIR WINDOWS OPEN WITH LIGHTS ON! 4. Price - value - it’s quiet expensive as for the how old the hotel is.

We’d been hoping for a relaxing family holiday with something for everyone, and weren’t disappointed. We had a junior suite, overlooking the sea, and found the accommodation very comfortable and spacious - the washing machine was a real bonus and free air con and WiFi most welcome. We found the staff very friendly and helpful and the hotel as a whole spotlessly clean; housekeeping was great. The outdoor pool was very pleasant, with sun beds and towels provided. We spent time most days at the hotel beach club, where towels and sun beds were also available without charge. We ate in two of the three hotel restaurants and service and food was not bad, but at busy times was a bit haphazard. The mini-market at the hotel was well-stocked with essentials. My only quibble was that none of the hotel gym equipment was working when I went - treadmills, cross trainers and bikes had no power, despite being plugged in and switched on. I’m told it was all working the day before. Sitges itself, a 2-3km walk along the seafront, is a lovely town with a wonderful vibe. There are loads of places to eat and drink and some great shops. Barcelona is only 40 mins or so on the train. Overall, our stay was most enjoyable and I’d recommend Playa Golf as a good base to explore Sitges and beyond.

I have mixed views about this hotel! 1st the bad points.... One of our party was arriving 1st so they checked in before us. When we got to reception we gave our booking number & ID over to the female receptionist & asked which room we were in. We were given two keys & made.our way to our room. However imagine our surprise when despite opening the room door we found another person inside who was not our friend! The guy was as surprised as we were! So i went back to reception to ask what had happened. Despite realising she had made an error there was no sense of apolgy or shock at what had happened. The fact that we were given keys to another persons room is very worrying & also a massive breach of confidentianlity & yet it was brushed away like nothing! Thankfully the guy was fine & did not make a fuss. We eventually got the keys to the correct room. We had booked a Junior suite with a sea view & found the room itself to be very large. The beds were comfy, shower really good & the view from the balcony was lovely. However the Jacuzzi was never in use despite it being in a wonderful rooftop location - nothing is mentioned about this on their website. The spa is not open normal hours. Both X trainers & 1 treadmill in the gym were broke - considering the gym is very small - despite the size of the hotel this isn't acceptable. You also had to pay for parking which i was shocked at because in most other hotels in Europe it's included. As if to make matters worse they had put the price up because it was Sitges Pride weekend...Such bad form. The outdoor pool also doesn't get the sun the whole day & the lifts are poor with only 1 out of 4 going to the gym/spa/meeting room on the 5th floor and to the car park on the -1 level. Good points: * Quiet location * Amazing views from the Sauna/Steam rooms * Junior Suite was massive & could comfortably house 4ppl * Outdoor pool area was lovely as was the lifeguard on duty. We never used the restaurants or even saw the indoor pool so we can't comment. Overall this is definitely a 3* with a lot of potential. Sorting the customer service issues & fixing the equipment would help as well. I would possibly go back but only if the price was relflecting a 3* hotel.
