“Couple celebrating 40th wedding anniversary.”

I always read reviews before booking hotels so i'm adding our experience! We had booked a 3 night, 4 day stay for our wedding anniversary - The hotel was lovely and clean, fresh towels everyday, staff friendly. We had bed and breakfast, our room was a double with a single bed extra so we had pleanty of room, bathroom with a bath and shower over, small balcony over looking a little street, all perfect for us. Breakfast was really nice and tasty, we also had one evening meal in the hotel which we found nice and quite reasonable. We also ate at the pool bar couple of times, food was nice. Used the swimming pool twice during our stay, cold but nice pool. Very peaceful sitting around the pool or near the bar, the clock chimes were nice in our opinoin. We walked the 10 minute walk down to the front and used a couple of reastsurants 2 evenings, nice atmosphere around square area. We caught the train to Barcelona about an hours journey, well worth a visit! All in all we had an amazing time, would definelty return to Merce Hotel and recommed to anyone thinking of booking. Thank you Merce for a lovely few days!

“Lovely, value for money 3 star hotel”
The staff were lovely and helpful, the room was cleaned every day and the breakfast was excellent. The rooms are small but comfortable enough, the bathrooms are a bit old fashioned but it’s a value for money three star and I’m not sure why some of the reviewers on here are so negative. The rooms are small but comfortable enough, the bathrooms are a bit old fashioned but it’s a value for money three star and I’m not sure why some of the reviewers on here are so negative. If you want four star, book four star.

“You pay for what you get”
On arrival we where dropped off on the main road outside the hotel which wasn’t even a 2 min walk didn’t really bother us we where then given a room key not card to our hotel room which took us a while to find, our door was a balcony door which felt unsafe as anyone could see into the room. On arrival we where dropped off on the main road outside the hotel which wasn’t even a 2 min walk didn’t really bother us we where then given a room key not card to our hotel room which took us a while to find, our door was a balcony door which felt unsafe as anyone could see into the room. The room was very small and squished same goes for the bathroom. After my partner had a shower there was a really bad smell coming from the drains so we opened the patio door and bathroom window (which led to a wall and not anywhere outside) after we slept in the room and went down for breakfast we came back up and the smell was still there so we requested a room transfer which was granted. I couldn’t fault our 2nd room it was 10 times nicer than the first nice and big same for the bathroom everything was a lot more modern we didn’t even mind that we didn’t have a balcony although even though we requested a double bed the beds where 2 single beds pushed together. Bar staff and reception staff were very nice the entire stay but I found the restaurant staff to be a bit rude in rushing you out during breakfast I even had a full plate of breakfast taken away while I went to go get myself a drink!. Pool was absolutely freezing and the beach wasn’t the nicest in the world unless you like a pebbly beach. The hotel is right beside a church and no exaggeration whatsoever the bell goes off every 15 mins! Until 11pm at night! And around 6pm the bell would ring constantly for at least 1-2 minutes Overall our stay was okay but the hotel was more a 2 star than 3
