We have just returned from a week at the Hotel Promenade. We had a fantastic room on the fifth floor, a penthouse suite with a large terrace and a huge outdoor bath tub. I really loved the outside bathtub after dark, looking up at the stars and the moon and listening to the sound of the waves crashing on the beach. Sheer bliss! Worth the extra money for the room, especially as the pool area was in the shade for most of the day. We only sunbathed on our on terrace and it was so peaceful. The food in the hotel was very good and it offered good variety. The staff in the hotel were all very friendly and helpful, I don’t know all their names but Ana, the restaurant manager was extremely efficient and the restaurant staff including Oscar and Fatima were all nice. Everyone at reception was very friendly. Peggy, who organised our check in was very helpful. Unfortunately the hotel does not have a very good swimming pool, and as someone who loves swimming, I was a bit disappointed in this, but this was the only downside. However, we did use the indoor pool in the spa a couple of times. It costs 15 euros for two hours and it’s totally worth it. It is a really lovely spa, a real oasis of tranquility and was a perfect option for a couple of cloudy afternoons. The hotel is close to the beach and although the railway runs between the hotel and the beach there is an underpass right in front of the hotel that takes you right on to the beach and there is a really nice walkway the length of the beach. All in all a very enjoyable and great value holiday.

Just returned from a week at the aqua hotel promenade, staff work very hard especially in the restaurant and house keeping, we had a pool view although sadly pool was too cold to go in. There is a heated pool in spa area but only for over 16s. Location is great opposite the beach and near to the train station for day trips to other resorts and cities of girona and Barcelona. The town is small and easy to get around, if you have a electric car there are charge points right outside the hotel, in all a pleasant stay, my family will miss the breakfast which they really enjoyed.

I stayed at the Hotel Promenade and Spa with my daughter for a week. We enjoyed our stay. We arrived early so our room was not ready but there is a luggage room securely accessed by a swipe card where we could leave our luggage and change if we wanted to. Unfortunately it was raining so we did not bother changing. Check in is at 2pm but our room was ready around 1pm. The room had a pool view and was a decent size with twin beds, a desk. a chair, wardrobe and a big bathroom with a walk in shower. There is a free safe in the wardrobe. We stayed half board and the food was very nice and varied. Breakfast had both full English and assorted continental dishes. There was also a variety of juices including proper orange juice. There was even cava if you wanted a mimosa. The evening meals also had plenty of variety. The only downside is the pool. It is quite small and mainly in the shade for most of the day. The staff are helpful and we were informed we could have an early breakfast arranged as we were leaving before breakfast started at 8 am.

It was okay is really all I have to say. Our room was a good size, decent views of the sea. There is a lot of noise which didn’t bother us but if you are a light sleeper it will affect your stay - maybe go for a pool view as it would be quieter. I found our bed very uncomfortable as it was rock hard, my partner liked it though so it depends on what you prefer. The market on a Friday is really busy and hard to walk through but nice to see and something different to do. The hotel in general is just very busy, so breakfast gets a bit chaotic as they only give you only two hours 8-10am. Getting a table comes with a queue. The coffee is not good at all, the food is okay, there is a fair amount of choice but things run out really quickly (juices etc), we didn’t go for breakfast in the end for the last two days because we just couldn’t face it, the lifts also become impossible to use during this time as they are just full constantly. Hotel cleanliness is pretty average, we had a dirty bed sheet after the cleaners had been, which we had to ask to get changed and do it ourselves. The cleaners woke us up one morning banging on our door at 8:30am despite having a do not disturb sign. The pool also gets very busy and you will struggle to get a bed, the pool is mostly shaded, so we didn’t really use it as it was always packed but not much sun. The restaurant attached to the hotel is lovely and they do a good pizza, and a good coffee, it would make sense for them to do breakfast instead! I don’t personally think charging your guests for the spa is good, the facilities are lovely but they are really small. They give you two hours but we needed only 30 minutes and we were done and ready to go. You definitely won’t use it for two hours unless you spend an extra £50 on a massage. The lighting in our room was funny and felt outdated, rooms are quite dark and the hotel in general just feels a bit dark. The floor in the bathroom ends up getting soaking wet too due to the shower design. We needed new towels for the beach but a few times they had ran out which was strange. Area wise, Pineda is the best place, I wouldn’t recommend Malgrat or Calella as we visited those areas and they weren’t the nicest. The beach opposite the hotel is nice, a good beach bar there which gets busy. Overall the hotel stay was just okay, nothing amazed us really. I’d say a little overpriced for what it is. However we did enjoy Pineda, lots of a friendly locals, a few good restaurants and a nice sense of community.
