Nice big apartment with a hob and a full size fridge. Comfortable bed. The reception ladies are very nice and friendly. The apartments are just off a lovely square, just a few yards to the beach and train station and near the town and other squares. There is a great bakery in the square for fresh bread and cakes and loads of places for coffees, drinks and eats all day. Great place

Just back after a weeklong visit. This is an excellent value apartment offering. Had a one bedroom apartment on the second floor overlooking the street outside. The apartments do not front onto the seaside promenade but are on the street immediately behind - the beach is just a couple of minutes walk across the promenade and railway line - several subway crossings and a level crossing by the station itself. Can’t fault cleaning/maintenance etc of apartment or the complex itself. No pool on site but you can access the pool etc. at the sister hotel on the promenade - reception will give you a pass card but we weren’t ask to produce it. There’s a small bar on site and you can also but large bottles of water - save you lugging them from elsewhere. Reception is 24 hour. Area is quiet - Pineda de Mer is a quieter place anyway so enjoy. WiFi is available for free - ask for access codes - generally ok but can be a little slow - possibly because everyone is booting up at the same time. Easy 5 minute walk will bring you to lots of places to eat/drink but do check opening times. We arrived on a Monday and found a few places closed and many places will close for the afternoon. Lovely spot “Vora Mar c100m from the entrance for a beer/cocktail/ice cream.

We stayed here in August. We had asked for a room with a balcony, as not all rooms have one. We were delighted to find that it was huge, travelling the length of our 2 sets of doors. We stayed here in August. We had asked for a room with a balcony, as not all rooms have one. We were delighted to find that it was huge, travelling the length of our 2 sets of doors. We had a one-bedroom apartment, in the bedroom there was plenty of wardrobe space and the bed was very comfortable. Our air conditioning was spot on, much needed. In the kitchenette/dining room there was another double bed, which was very low to the floor. Probably not best suited to elderly guests, or those with a bad back. There was no storage space at all in this room. Sharing a wardrobe, as big as it was, with 2 teenage girls was very tricky, especially of an evening getting ready to go out for meals. There was ample cutlery and crockery, with a microwave, oven and fridge, but surprisingly, no kettle! A dining table and four chairs were also there. We were half board so never really needed the kitchen equipment. The bar was well stocked and we usually had a nightcap in the rear beer garden. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Julietta printed off our return flight tickets and was very helpful with our transfer return. All our meals were at the Hotel Promenade, a short 2 minute walk. The meals were mostly lovely, repetitive slightly, but that's usually the case. Plenty of rice, pasta, fruit, veg and yogurts, which being a vegetarian was crucial. As with most restaurants on the continent though, there were no vegetable mains - lasagne etc, so my plate was usually a combination of all the non-meat items. It was always very well presented, fresh and a great selection nonetheless. The hotels are situated a minute or two from the rail station, ideal for trips south to Calella and Barcelona or north to Santa Susanna and Lloret de Mar. Pineda itself has a lovely long beach. And we were lucky enough to be there for its carnival/festival week. There was a fair for the girls, and 2 amazing nights were had with an incredible street firework procession, and a festival of the giants - huge medieval kings and queens parading, followed by hordes of delighted Catalonians.

The first point to note about this hotel is that it is at the town end of a no through street, with neither allocated nor dedicated parking. Having said that we did nearly always manage to get parked in the street, also bè aware that it is usually necessary to reverse back between the parked vehicles to get out, challenging in an unfamiliar hire car. There is some rough standing parking about five minutes walk. Our three berth room had double bed accommodation, not the more common twin we had expected (and seen in pictures) we therefore upgraded to a four berth room this with twin beds and a bit more space; but unfortunately no balcony. This was pointed out by the hotel before we decided to change. The other problem with our upgrade was that it had to be requested by our on line only travel agent, even though we were to pay the hotel direct,( bureaucracy). Fortunately their in resort only telephone support worked better than expected and this was soon resolved. Don't know quite how typical our room was but it had both air conditioning and window shutters, these good for security as we were on the ground floor and useful for keeping out the early morning light if a bit stuffy. In addition to double wardrobe in bedroom there was a single in the “lounge” area giving plenty of storage space. Room had a full size under counter fridge two ring stove and microwave. As mentioned by others no kettle or toaster, we used a saucepan for boiling water. Decent sized inroom safe daily charge and deposit. A full size bath in the four berth room an improvement on the ¾ in the triple. There seemed to be a bit of an issue with the over bath shower. In ours the deflector was stuck in the half way position meaning half the water went up the shower and half straight down the plughole, not a problem to us as still plenty of water to the shower, but seemed a bit of a waste. We did hear others reporting that their shower didn't work at all. Beds quite comfortable if a little noisy given their timber slat and metal frame construction, an Ikea “Lycksele” style bed settee in the lounge providing the extra bed and only “comfortable” seating during the day. Internet very poor in room a little better at reception, basic email only uploading photos near impossible. TV had two English channels CNN and an oft-repeating Travel Channel, but your on holiday get out and enjoy the sun. Towels changed on request (leave them in the bath) Maid service was a bit late in the day c.14:00 think we were last on her list, sheets were presumably to be changed to a set regime buts most days we saw the maid and had ours changed on request. All staff seemed keen to please and help. Although the hotel is at the town end of the street, Pineda is a quiet resort and noise was not a problem . Pineda offers a rail service to both Girona and Barcelona with connections beyond.
