All-Inclusive Regulations in the Balearic Islands…
On 23 January 2020, the new Balearic Law against Tourism Excesses entered into force, which prohibits all-inclusive deals with unlimited alcoholic beverages. Only a maximum of three alcoholic beverages per guest will be served during lunch and/or dinner.
We would also like to inform you of the following restrictions included in the law:
Practices which may endanger the life, health and physical integrity of guests are strictly prohibited at hotels, apartments and holiday properties. These practices include climbing from one balcony or window to another and jumping from inappropriate places such as balconies into swimming pools (a practice widely known as ';balconing';). Guests breaking the law will be immediately banished from the property and may be fined, states the law and the corresponding municipal regulations. The hotel/apartment manager or property agent must order said guests to leave immediately, which may require assistance from the security forces.
Failure to comply with the prohibition of practices which may endanger the life, health and physical integrity of guests will be considered a serious offence. In the Balearic Islands, serious offences are subject to a fine between 6,001 and 60,000 euros.

We booked this as a last minute cheaper holiday just to have a break in the sun. Gorgeous hotel and our balcony overlooked the adults only pool which is smaller but we preferred it. The adult pool has lots of sunbeds and 8 free double sunbeds which were very comfy. There are also 8 adjustable double beds with canopies but these are €15 per day so we never bothered. The food was lovely and lots of choice and variety but as always with hotel food it does get a bit repetitive. There is a lovely salad bar, several prepared salads, hot selection, desserts, soup, vegetarian section and a chef cooking to order each night. Breakfast was particularly good and Chico made fried eggs, pancakes and omelettes to order which were all fab. The coffee at breakfast was really good. The hotel has a nice bar which is indoor and outdoor and they had entertainment on 3 of our night and it was good but quite low key and not in your face. Drinks weren't overly expensive. The main pool has music but the adult pool doesn't which is a shame. The yoga program is free and was amazing, Laura and Beatrize were both fab and we did yoga, meditation reiki and facial yoga. Yiu can get to Barcelona or Girona by train and tge closest station is a 10-15 minute walk away. The "strip" is only a few mins walk away as is the beach. We would definitely go back.

“Perfect for a long weekend”
This was our second visit to Luna Park, the first one having been very disappointing, however, everything was very good this time and the staff very pleasant. A great place for a long weekend and Barcelona is easily accessible by train, the nearest station being about a 15 minute walk away.

The good points - nice hotel. Clean and well presented. Rooms clean beds and pillows comfy. Lovely fluffy white towels. Pool and area clean and well stocked with sun beds. Water freezing!! Short walk to cafes/restaurants and bars. Lovely beach with water sports. The bad ‘ish’ points. Restaurant clean and staff lovely. Food somewhat boring. However nicely presented. I’d sway to 3* rather than 4* not a lot of variety of fruit. Only ever saw melon, pineapple, orange, grapefruit. Desert counter disappointingly minimal. However the cooking stations were nice especially the sausages and burgers. Was difficult to work out what some of the foods were as the tickets did not have English and some foods had no tickets!!! There is NO eating alfresco. Very disappointing… It would have been nice to eat breakfast outside. The restaurant is in the lower part of the hotel so quite stuffy.. there is a bar and bar area which is nice. Also a bar outside by the pool. However no snacks are provided. Apart from crisps. Would have been nice to have been able to buy a toasted sandwich at least. Especially for b&b or half board residents. I saw entertainment one evening. 2 elderly gentlemen playing and signing 60’s songs to a handful of guests..not great!! No pool Entertainment offered! They offer yoga and meditation but nowhere is there an itinerary so had no idea when or where these are taking place so unfortunately did not get to participate. If you want quiet and boring this is your hotel. If you want more of a fun vibe go elsewhere!

Visited 24th June 2024 for 1 week , stayed in room 524 with my partner. My partner and I travel extensively and this was our fourth European holiday this year. Arrival - not the warmest of welcomes unfortunately. The reception area is a bit of a catfish. It’s light airy and pumped full of perfume to give the ambience of a high end resort. The staffs uniform matches this however this is as far as it goes…. We knew this was a 3* property partnered with a 4* property however you are soon reminded by reception which “block” you reside in. We arrived late afternoon so our room was ready and available. The receptionist (blonde, disinterested with harsh mannerisms) offered no interaction whatsoever and was very much robotic in requesting passports and offering generic hotel information. The main emphasis was “Don’t be late for dinner & go now.” It was 7pm and last time we checked we were in Spain where they eat late? Such an utterly bizarre request.. The room was very substandard. Shocking in fact. The building is clearly very dated and the decor matches this. The room was clean enough however very very basic. 2 plug sockets for the whole room and no fridge or tea/coffee making facilities. Bathroom dressed for x1 guest with x1 towel and x1 hand towel. No amenties other than a bar of soap , shower cap and pump action soap in shower (smelt same as hand wash in communal bathrooms!) The safe in room worked well. Housekeeping did their best but I think the resources / products they use are very limited for them. They looked stressed most days. 524 was quiet room though and the air con although dated seemed to work pretty effectively. Food was ok. Breakfast very limited , Nescafé coffee from multiple machines and syrupy juices from a machine. Good idea to place milk near machines , even in a jug to save you walking across chaotic dining hall to get milk for coffee. Fruit basic although egg station was good but popular . Great fresh bread (I think it was fresh!) Dinner was so much better although suppliers of the fruit and vegetables was obviously low budget - no taste or substance and plenty of salt used. Loved the Gazpacho 🍅 Lots of variation during dinner service however dining room very chaotic , bad acoustics and no outdoor dining. All food labelled is in Spanish (I know it’s a Spanish hotel!) but it caters to British / German / French / Russian . Label your food better especially with allergens. Amenities. We liked the adult only pool actually. The “Balinese beds” are a joke. Patrolled every half hour by lifeguards (they haven’t any social skills and sadly don’t know how to talk to guests at all.) The Luna group likes to give off the illusion that they are some sort of exclusive beach club. If you kicked off enough to management they were just giving for free however €15 is laughable for a shaded sunbed that really doesn’t resemble a Balinese bed at all. Pool area wasn’t cleaned once during our week stay. No cleaners to brush up the communal areas. €20 deposit PER pool towel again is so laughable plus €5 to rent each pool towel - never known anything like it. Was in Majorca last month and they requested €10 deposit for 2 towels - a lot more acceptable. Courtesy luggage room and shower room by adults only pool was a nice touch but needed constant monitoring by housekeeping staff. Staff were mostly pleasant : The only members of staff that stood out to us were lovely Saima who was maitre-de at breakfast and dinner - she was the only member of staff to ask how our day was and show genuine care for us (knew us by name and always stopped to chat) she was wonderful with all the other guests. Yasmin was such a lovely smiley face serving us most evenings- thank you for your service. The other waitresses in the restaurant are efficient enough and drinks do come quickly however we resent paying for drinks before they arrive. All their mobile phones tend to be kept in locked drawer that the waitresses constantly check. Reception staff are again ok , not one member of staff wore a name badge so impossible to recognise good service from set staff members. Spanish receptionists are far more naturally warmer and friendlier than then French receptionists who were wooden, awkward and pretty cold with non-French speaking customers. Reception area as mentioned was light , airy and welcoming however the key card to gain entry at all hours is just so inconvenient. Doors should be unlocked during daytime hours and closed after say 9pm? Make this make sense - if you have issues with people coming to use hotel facilities, employ security personnel. We asked to see the Luna “Club” room as we were so shocked by the state of room 524 however the club rooms really are no different. The bedspreads are different along with a mini fridge and thicker curtains on the windows . They are slightly bigger in size however the hotel wanted £250 to upgrade for the week (!) no chance. Malgrat de Mar is quite down-market and we knew this as we booked an inexpensive break however we have had inexpensive breaks before and this place just felt very cheap in comparison. Supermarkets and cheap shops 5-10 walk away. Attention management (if any? Nowhere to be seen during our stay.) Do NOT allow your staff to eat in the restaurant during mealtimes - it looks sloppy and unprofessional to see someone who has just checked you in chowing down on their buffet food during their 30 minute break! Having your staff eat in the dining areas cheapens your brand -a brand you are trying to promote as “high end”. Management take note please . No recycling in your property at all. No “green cards” in rooms to reuse towels and only one type of bin in the “resort”. The locals complain it’s us the tourists -however it’s shocking , you are at fault here. Sad to see how you offer nothing for your guests to aid them with recycling ♻️ If you always book 3* properties- you’d be delighted here. As you can utilise the 4* amenities but we shall not both be returning sadly. We stayed here for 1 week and not ONE member of staff asked us how our stay was during that time! We are polite guests and would offer kind, considerate and constructive suggestions and feeeback. The management clearly read these reviews , get out on the floor and interact with your guests! Check out - very transactional , quick. Told to use luggage room in Luna Park however had lovely shower before check out in shower room in Luna Club.

I have rated this hotel a 3* as from my love holiday booking and the photos I thought the room I had booked was spacious, tea/coffee facilities, and some other extras. This was not the case. I had actually booked to stay in the Luna Park side of hotel not the Luna Club. I'm not sure what the price difference would have been but there are two sides to this resort, the left Luna park and right luma club. Everyone uses all the same facilities around resort so literally the room is the only difference. We stayed 3 nights in the Luna park side, room was ok a bit tired but fine for what we needed. Breakfast is good, evening meal hit and miss, but lots of places to eat out at end of road. We eat at Maui and had ice cream from kings, both delicious! Very clean, quiet hotel even though it's a family hotel. Staff are friendly, not much English spoken. Lovely few days of quiet and recharge, would come again but only book bed and breakfast as so many places to eat outside hotel.
