The bar staff were quick and courteous and very friendly. The amenities, facilities and entertainment were great for our family. Would highly recommend and we will definitely be back. I’ll start with the many positives and end with constructive criticism! - I had a very enjoyable solo stay at the Tropic Park hotel, for 5 days in October. It was my first time going away on my own, and I felt really safe. It was also super relaxing, which is just what I needed. - my room was very nice and comfortable. The shower was fab and the cubicle extremely spacious. The black-out curtains were extremely effective, leading to a good night’s sleep. - the standard of cleaning was very good, not only in the room but throughout the hotel. Daily cleaning and fresh towels if required. - I didn’t use the hotel pools (indoor or outdoor), so can’t comment on those. However the roof terrace was beautiful with exceptional views. Not sure how busy it would be in the summer, but I never had trouble getting a sunlounger. - free WiFi was excellent and worked all over the hotel, even on the roof terrace. - there’s a very handy supermarket right across from the hotel. It looks small from the outside but appearances are deceptive, because it’s really pretty big and has everything you need! As usual when you’re abroad, the toiletries and suncream are expensive, so stock up on those before you go. Snacks, water, juice, etc are all pretty reasonable. - the food was a highlight for me, as it was yummy. I never struggled to find something to eat and it was really tasty. I’m not sure how vegetarians would fare here, but I was in my element! The food often wasn’t as hot as I’d like it to be, but there is a microwave for heating things up. I never had difficulty finding a table, but again, can’t comment on the summer months. There were many Spaniards holidaying here, and that’s a good sign. - there’s a nice beach right across the rail track, which is easily accessed by an underpass outside the hotel. Loungers were 7 euro with an additional 7 euro for an umbrella. Or sunbathe on the hotel roof terrace for free! I just happen to love the sea and need a bit of shade owing to my fair skin. I’d burn to a crisp if I spent too long on the roof! - the staff were absolutely fine. I’d say more professional than super warm and friendly, but still pleasant, polite and helpful. I’m not sure if I met some of the staff members mentioned by name on here, but do tend to keep myself to myself when on holiday. Now for the not so good, which is thankfully in the minority :) - the lifts! The hotel needs an extra lift (there’s 2). I can’t remember a time when there wasn’t a bit of a wait for one. It’s not a big deal, as you’re on holiday and there’s no rush. However I can imagine it would get frustrating with a buggy in tow. - again, only very mildly annoying, but this hotel is slightly more noisy than others I’ve stayed at. You can hear doors slamming, chairs scraping, etc. I quickly got used to it and it never felt out of control. Just take earplugs if you think this may affect the quality of your stay. - I would return to this hotel if placed elsewhere, but probably not to the surrounding area. It’s a bit rundown and there’s not much more to it than a long strip of tourist shops, bars and restaurants. Perfect for 5 days but I certainly wouldn’t want to be here for a two week holiday. - If I can give you one piece of advice, it would be to pay extra for a decent view. If a good view is important to you, then do not take your chances at this particular hotel. The view I had was the worst I’ve had at any hotel. My fault, I guess, for not paying extra. But I didn’t expect the view I actually got. This meant that I spent no time reading on the balcony as envisaged, but lesson learnt! In conclusion, a lovely good-value hotel with laidback vibes and many good points, the food being a particular delight.

“Great vacation”

Our room was small, but clean, with big balcony with pool view. Everyone in the staff were friendly. There are few pools, even on the roof (but only for adults). The food was very tasteful, we enjoyed every meal. The vacation here was great and we enjoy it.
