“Great choice for golfers and families”

Our third time staying at this resort, 2010/2017. It has been updated but probably due again. We were upgraded to a large, ocean view room. Comfortable. Bathroom needs an upgrade. August = fog so we did not golf this time. Main restaurant offered a different buffet each night; but we do not like buffets so ate more casually in their other restaurant and lobby bar. One night, we took their shuttle to the next resort restaurant that we enjoyed with a beautiful sunset. Breakfast buffet was very good and the omelet chef was pleasant while calmly making 4 omelets at a time. Other than golfers, the resort is a family resort = so lots of noisy children.

“Relaxing golf & hotel stay”

We were very pleasantly surprised with our 6 day stay. We were met by friendly staff on arrival who took care of our golf bags and suitcases delivering promptly once our room was ready. Our room had clearly been refurbished but not the bathroom. However robes and towels were of good quality as were the toiletries. Plenty of wardrobe and cupboard space. The maid was superb. All staff were excellent, nothing too much trouble. We used the buffet once, good choice & quality. We ate more often in the upstairs bar which was of contemporary decor & international food. Our visit was to play golf - shuttle services too and from the various courses were prompt and efficient. The spa was good, but on occasion too many children being very noisy. However choose your time and it was yours solo which was most relaxing. We will return but with a car so as to be able to explore dining options in Obidos and Peniche. If there were more restaurant options I would have rated higher. Ideal location for golfers and you can literally arrive and everything is taken care of until you leave.

Nice venue with large, clean rooms overlooking the ocean. Somewhat "in the middle of nowhere" so you need a car if you want to enjoy anything outside the resort. Nice venue with large, clean rooms overlooking the ocean. Somewhat "in the middle of nowhere" so you need a car if you want to enjoy anything outside the resort. The staff was friendly, the breakfast was great, the gym spacious and well equipped. Be mindful that the Atlantic winds are cool, meaning the location is several degrees colder than eg Lisbon. The on-site restaurants are solid but largely serve the same menu. The on-site a la carte-restaurant was very nice and worth a try. The pool area with its services needs some update, there is no active pool service and small things like the lack of water at the gym etc take away from a full luxury experience. Should be a great alternative for golfers, though.

We stayed at this hotel for the proximity to golf, which was amazing (played at Praia del Rey and Royal Obidos), but the hotel itself feels dated and a bit worn down. The rooms are okay, nothing wrong with them, but just mediocre. Needs a make-over. Hotel decor feels kinda 1990’s ish. The hotel is massive, and it felt very crowded especially at the breakfast buffet. The hotel staff and service were amazing though!! So helpful and aiming to please. The service was impeccable. Anytime we had a little issue, they worked to resolve it immediately. Our Nespresso machine in the room wasn’t working properly, they replaced it very rapidly. We needed more coffee pods, they came within minutes to bring more. Our toilet wasn’t flushing well, someone came to fix it very quickly. The guest relations staff were super helpful with dinner reservations and recommendations. The breakfast buffet was very nice and ample, with an omelette making station. Setting of the hotel is picturesque and beautiful, and there is a lovely large swimming pool and loungers. Overall this hotel is fine, nothing wrong with it, but not truly a 5-star. Just needs a bit of a facelift. Still would recommend it though if you want to be in that area.
