Lovely hotel, room beautiful with stunning sea view, rooms cleaned every day & staff friendly & accommodating, 44th wedding anniversary while there & a bottle of wine was delivered to our room which was a lovely touch. We loved it so much we have booked for same time next year

Arrived home last night after spending 9 wonderful days in the Melia Madeira Mare, we arrived to a warm and friendly greeting from Leandros at reception and were checked in to our wonderful sea view room and immediately felt at peace with the world, as we wandered through the hotel we were warmly greeted by staff members who we have got to know over the many years we have returned to this hotel, feels like home from home , I must agree with a few comments made by other guests for example indoor pool water jet switch needs fixing, odd lights around public spaces not working, not a great look but not too much cost to put right, great to see coffee back to being served at breakfast, but on the whole still a great hotel with fantastic staff in all departments, will I return ! OH yes at the drop of a hat. Tony and Tina.

“Excellent 5* Melia Mare”

Just returned from a very relaxing stay at the Melia Mare.The hotel is situated in a prominent position on the promenade. Just returned from a very relaxing stay at the Melia Mare.The hotel is situated in a prominent position on the promenade. Have stayed at this hotel a few times now & it never let's it's high standards slip.A good sign of a well run hotel is that it retains it's very polite staff year after year. We stayed in a full sea view room overlooking the lido area.Rooms & balcony are very spacious & very comfortable beds. We only stayed on b&b basis but the varied selection of foods available at breakfast was enough to satisfy anyone. Thanks to all staff for making our stay so stress free & enjoyable.. We did really enjoy our stay. Our room was lovely and clean, and the staff very friendly. I do however encourage the management to pay more attention to maintenance details before it’s too late; the hotel is on the cusp of customers legitimately challenging its five-star status. Just maintenance details but lots of them for example worn-out terrace and pool furniture, broken decking light fixtures around the pool, blown light bulbs in common spaces, worn-out/broken spa equipment and more. It’s these details that really define a proud five-star hotel vs. a hotel slowly moving towards a change of ownership. It just needs a manager to walk around with more critical eyes and get these jobs done before the start of the next main season, before it becomes too overwhelming for a hotel of this size.
