First time visit to Madeira for a 64 year old couple. This Hotel is excellent. Spotlessly clean room for us on the 10th floor with a good lift service and excellent cleaning service for the rooms on a daily basis. The breakfast area is large and is built to cater for large numbers of people but is serviced by some excellent staff that keep the "breakfast offer" in good order.Food is regularly replenished and the used plates and dishes and cutlery being removed on a regular basis. The location of the Hotel may appear "a bit out of town" but the walk into Funchal is about 20mins and is as interesting as you want to make it....it soon becomes an easy jaunt into town......but Taxis are regularly available from the Hotel for those wishing to speed up the process. The reception staff were excellent and as helpful as they could be. We gathered that the majority of the customers in the Hotel were German, which was fine by us as everyone was well mannered and polite. I would definitely have no problems in staying at this Hotel again on future stays on this beautiful island.

“Lovely hotel ”

Just returned from a 10 day visit. Rooms large with very comfortable beds and a good view. Breakfast was very busy but we always managed to get a table, amazing choice of hot and cold foods, great fresh fruit and fresh omelette cooked to order. Just returned from a 10 day visit. Rooms large with very comfortable beds and a good view. Breakfast was very busy but we always managed to get a table, amazing choice of hot and cold foods, great fresh fruit and fresh omelette cooked to order. The staff were friendly and helpful, beautiful flowers in reception . The only reason I have not given it a 5 star review is because we had to pay 25.5 euros for the safe, all other 4 star hotels I have stayed in have not charged for the use of the room safe.

We stayed for just under a week here, we had full use of the facilities and we only paid for bed and breakfast. The hotel staff are brilliant cannot fault them the cleanliness is of a high standard too. The only grumbles we had were the cups supplied in the room are on the small side and there was no coffee sachets or milk provided and the coffee machine down stairs in the breakfast room is a little on the bitter side, you can order one from the bar but this is at a cost and is only slightly better, we ended up buying sachets ourselves. The breakfast was the same everyday apart from the fruit so if you aren’t a fan don’t be thinking you might get better tomorrow but this is our preference so don’t let that sway you just a heads up incase. The location is perfect close enough for a nice sea view but no sandy beach close although there is two black sandy beaches on the island elsewhere. There is plenty of good restaurants nearby some with exceptional presentation of food and good value for money and I’d say is only a 25-30 minute walk into Funchal itself if you walk at a good pace. I’d definitely stay again despite the minor negatives.

Firstly the hotel was very clean and comfortable and the staff were very good /pleasant, and they made us feel very welcome especially drinks waiter Aldonio Freitas also the ladies on the reception. The entertainment in general was good the only downside to our stay and this was from our party of 16 adults was that we were All inclusive and could not get ice cream or something to eat only at designated times,the restaurant food at lunch time and evening seemed to be very repetitious so much so we all went out to eat twice out of the 7 nights, it maybe better if there were themed nights for a variety of food.
