Second time staying at Florisol and once again we really enjoyed our stay. The location of Florisol is perfect shops cafes restaurants supermarket all a short walk away. We booked a one bedroom apartment and we were very pleased. The views from the balcony are amazing.Don’t be put off by the corridors they badly need a lick of paint and the apartments are very nice once you get in your rooms! We stayed bed and breakfast and the breakfasts are very nice plenty of choices cooked options and lovely fruits and continental items. Staff are very friendly and polite and the rooms are cleaned daily. My only slight gripe is when we checked out I was presented with a bill for drinks that we had never ordered! Don’t they check who is ordering by proof of room key or signature? I was astounded and it was very embarrassing. But, it was a slight blip and wouldn’t put me off staying again.

“Great 3 star hotel in a super location”

We went with our 2 sons and their girlfriends and we had a studio apartment per couple. My husband and I had one of the recently refurbished studios and I have to say it was really good. Spacious, clean and a modern shower room. My sons were both in the older studios and their bathrooms were a bit tired. Beds reasonably comfy. No air con, only ceiling fans. We opened our balcony door at night and we were quite comfortable. However both my sons said they felt uncomfortable at night with no aircon as they didn't feel they could open their doors and ceiling fan was not enough. Rooms were cleaned and beds made every single day. Towels changed regularly too. Staff all exceptionally friendly and helpful. We did not have buffet breakfasts, we chose to go out. We had dinner on one evening, buffet style, but we didn't particularly rate the food and didn't go back. Fantastic location. Mini supermarkets very close by. Bus stop also where you could go into the old town for €1.90 per person (only accept cash on the bus). I would definitely stay here again.

“Great base for family holiday in Madeira ”

I visited with my husband and 2 sons aged 7 and 10 in August 2024. We had a family room on 10th floor. Rooms were basic but clean with a fan in the main bedroom. It was incredibly hot in the kitchen/living area where the children slept and it was unbearable on the first night when we arrived so that we all had to sleep in the main room. The second day we requested a standing fan and it was provided and things were better after this. However it was apparent that the hotel do not have enough standing fans for all guests as the standing fan broke on the 4th day and they were unable to provide a new fan for 2 nights. It didn't spoil the holiday however as luckily those nights were not as warm. Views from the 10th floor were fantastic and we had 2 balconies. There's plenty of storage space. There is a safe in the which is payable. No water or tea/coffee provided but they do provide washing up liquid, tea towel and sponge. In the bathroom there are soap and shower gel dispensers. Bathroom towels are provided daily. I saw people with large green towels by the pool so you probably can get them from the hotel but we were never told about this and we took our own anyway. Pool area was great always got a sunbed and pool was clean and not too cold. You could order drinks and snacks at the bar and the friendly bar staff brought them over. Inflatables are allowed in the pool. There is a pool table charged 4 euros per hour and a table tennis set which is free. There's also a small playground but there's not really anywhere to play football at the hotel. There is a spa but we didn't use it. You can use the facilities at the other dorisol complex 5m walk away which we did several times. Here you will find a few more pools including a fab indoor pool with jacuzzi and a well equipped gym. Location of the hotel is fantastic with multiple restaurants in the vicinity. We had great meals every night at various restaurants. We never had dinner at the hotel. Breakfast at the hotel was good with a selection of cereals including chocolate ones for kids, croissants, pancakes sometimes and a fried egg/omelette station with beans, mushrooms, tomatoes, mini sausages and toast etc. All very nice. Coffee was also nice. We found reception to not be that helpful. On arrival there was very little information given and we had to work most things out for ourselves. When the fan broke we had to request a new one 4 times before it was replaced. A handbook in the room might be useful? It was our first time in Madeira and we went on a few trips. We saw pilot whales on a boat trip, visited Funchal and the Ronaldo museum and took the sky lift to the palace gardens and then got the toboggan back down. There's a taxi rank right outside the hotel to take you anywhere and cost was 6-10 euro to get to the marina. There's also a lido near the hotel with a huge raft in the sea and water slides. This was also a great day out. This area has a large recreational section with more bars/cafes/restaurants and is very pleasant. You can play football there. Overall for the price paid we were very happy with the hotel and loved our first trip to Madeira.

“1st time visiting Maderia”

Needs much improvement No air-conditioning in rooms Same breakfast most mornings Pidgeons plage the dining areas inside and outside Sunbeds in need of improvement and taking in when raining wet for next day. will not be staying here again
