The location action couldn't be better. Not far from municipal Park and Old Town and close to bus stops to access the rest of the Island. Just around the corner from Pingo Doce supermarket and the bakers which was very handy. Staff were friendly and helpful. There is a snack bar next door for breakfast for 7.5 euros though we didn't use. Superior apartment 403 was sizable but the bed was so hard it was like sleeping on a plank. Pillows could do with replacing too. The kitchen was OK. Obvious things like bowls to use in microwave were missing. Filter coffee machine was appreciated. The balcony was nice to sit out on but building work was going opposite, though it didn't disturb too much. Sadly the apartments have NO sound proofing. You can literally hear everything the neighbours do including going for a pee or burping!! When they washed up it was like they were coming through the wall. Those to the right of us came in after midnight yelling in corridors and singing loudly. So we were disturbed a lot. Thank God for ear plugs. Sadly this is putting us off staying here again though we will definitely return to funchal.

“Good value, great location”

Stayed in Dec 2023, for one week. These apartments are in a great location and are very central. The decor is a bit tired but it is OK. There is a good, well stocked supermarket less than  five minutes walk away. My apartment had a fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster, kettle, coffee machine, 2 ring hob and a compact dishwasher, so everything you would need. There is a safe, costing 10 euros per week. The apartment is cleaned daily and the towels changed. The bathroom has a shower over the bath, with good pressure and plenty of hot water. The bed was maybe a bit hard but fine for me and I slept well while there. I had a balcony which was nice but it could be a bit noisy - not surprising as I said, it was very central. The staff were very helpful and sorted out the issues I had with the TV quickly. There were some small niggles. There was no salt, pepper, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, or cloth. This is not unusual for apartments abroad but best to pack some rather than have to buy them and leave them! I think something like a J cloth would hardly eat into their profits! There was minimal crockery. I actually only had one normal cup (there were two coffee cups), so some mugs would have been nice. There were 4 pans, but three of them were very large, smaller ones would have been better as well as smaller bowls! All in all, good value, great location and reasonably well equipped.

These apartments are in a great location near the sea front, the old town and a shopping centre with a large supermarket. They are a little dated but are spacious, comfortable and clean. Plenty of hot water and a decent shower. We didn’t self cater but the facilities seemed adequate - a 2 ring hob, microwave and plug in oven. Lost a star as they charge for a safe which I believe in this day and age should be included as standard. After all there is no extra cost to them. At the moment there are renovation works taking place at the rear of the apartments so I would suggest you ask for a room at the front (even numbers) or on the upper floors where you might be able to hear but cannot see the workmen.

Our fourth stay at this friendly well run hotel/apt,the staff always welcoming and have time to talk and help with any enquiry,the apartments are a good size ,large bathroom and bedroom area with plenty of wardrobe space ,the lounge/dining area is adequate and our room had a small balcony with a view(great on an evening)of the city rising in the hills towards Monte,the hotel is situated in the central part of town ,near a park and the Ritz cafe around 200 metres away,,when we were here in 2022 my wife became ill and was in Hospital for 8 days,the hotel could not have supported me more we are so grateful for their kindness an..and it,s location,thankyou to all the staff again.d support,we will return always to this hotel for that reason
