We live in Lisbon and fancied a short staycation at the beach so thought we'd try this out. It was a good stay and we will return when the rate is good. The only question mark we had is the location on the cliff overlooking the resort town itself. On day one we took the hotel shuttle to and from the nearest beach resort which is only a few minutes away. But we did make the mistake of walking that evening into the resort to get dinner and it's an unpleasant walk that hits the highway that isn't pedestrian-friendly whichever way you go despite not being that far. There's also nothing immediately around the hotel making it feel more isolated than it is because there is a Pingo Doce supermarket walkable nearby though no visible restaurants so you have to get into the town somehow for dinner once you've exhausted the hotel restaurant's menu. As IHG Platinums, we got upgraded to a "1 king premium balcony sea view" room and were offered 600 points or two drinks (beer, wine, soft) at the bar. We took the drinks and had a couple of nice glasses of white wine. The room was large enough with an additional single sofa bed and you could just see the sea over the hill in the distance. No maintenance issues; everything looks quite new. It has a microwave and small kitchen sink but no utensils or anything. A Nespresso machine with four capsules that were not replaced. Both the shower gel and shampoo (fixed to the wall) were empty when we arrived and were not replaced either until we requested it on day two. Minor issues that didn't affect our enjoyment. Breakfast was surprisingly good. I'm not an expert on Crowne Plaza or IHG brand standards and my last breakfast was at the HIX in Porto where there scrambled eggs were rubberised. No such inedible nonsense at the CP where the scrambled eggs were cooked to creamy perfection. The buffet had everything you need for a full cooked breakfast, cold cuts, cheeses, lots of cakes and pastries, cereals and yoghurts, and various breads. It was well worth the €10 each. We didn't try out the indoor pool or steam room and will leave these until our next stay out of high season when it's too cool to go to the beach.

We stayed in a one bedroom suite in August with our young children and loved this hotel so much I think we will be returning. We had so much space for the four of us and the kitchen area was really useful. The room and bed were very comfortable as well. The kids club staff were fantastic and we found the shuttle to the beach very useful as well. Staff are really friendly and helpful and we liked being out of Lisbon where its quieter.

“Great experience”

Amazing experience, great staff, food, pool and children activities. Great hotel we went in August and it was very enjoyable, all the staff were friendly and helpful and all the meals were delicious. We will definitely come back and hopefully soon.

This is a very good hotel. I understand the renovations are ongoing. We stayed in a suite and it was spacious for our family to spread out. Nice balcony. The breakfast was very good - although the omelette station needs improving. Still there's plenty of good food available. We had lunch here most days and the food is OK. The service can be slow and silly things like not giving water is a little annoying. We mainly used the indoor pool which was good. Lots of families using the outdoor pool and beds - so a little quieter inside. There is also a steam room, sauna and a gym. The hotel is not on the beach, but there is a shuttle Overall a good relaxing experience
