“Not a 4 star hotel”

Yes, guests at Axis Vermar Conference & Beach Hotel have highlighted that: I am unsure as to why this hotel is 4 stars, as it reflects a 3 at best. We stayed for 5 nights and there were certain things we really enjoyed and others… not so much. Firstly we were up and travelling from 1am and arrived to the hotel at 11am, only to be told by staff that check in wasn’t until 3pm. For a package holiday we were surprised and they wouldn’t allow early check in either, I even asked at 2.40pm as we were so tired and they still said no! The room itself was fine. It was clean, had amenities and the beds were comfy. The cleaners did an amazing job everyday and we couldn’t fault them. Only thing that would have made it better would be having more than 1 teabag and milk sachets. We had to buy our own milk?? We did book the spa in advance which was the best part of the hotel by far and isn’t advertised as well as it could be. I would 100% recommend booking this! The worst part was the breakfast. By far the WORST food I have ever had. They had 3 options for hot food, eggs, sausages and bacon - all covered in grease and was cold. We ended up eating at a local cafe for 2 days and on the last day just plain old toast. We went during storm babet so we couldn’t sunbathe or go in the pool, or even walk on the beach. This of course wasn’t the hotels fault, but in hospitality, they should offer alternative entertainment and higher levels of customer service, to make up for what the guests are missing out on. Overall it did the job but there would be better hotels worth 4 stars elsewhere.
