I travelled to this hotel on 28th December with my husband and 3 small children for some sunshine after Christmas and it was absolutely fantastic. We had a 2 room suite above the kids club and couldn’t have been happier with the accommodation. We were on half board and while the evening buffet was fabulous, we preferred to have lunch in the restaurant beside the pool which is allowed as an alternative. Breakfast was a delicious buffet with omelettes to order. Service was always friendly and top class. As an observation, and not a criticism, this is not a hotel that is directed at families of small kids- they are made feel welcome but it’s trying to achieve that balance of also pleasing couples and families with older children. Eg kids only allowed in indoor pool for a few hours a day and no kids under 4 allowed in the indoor pool at all. I understand the rationale but please be conscious this is not a Martinhal style set up. This rule didn’t affect us as our small kids were more than delighted passing time at the outdoor pool which was so well heated, it was glorious. The weather was a solid 17 degrees and clear blue skies. It was fresh in the morning and cold in the evenings so pack some warm things too if travelling at this time of year. They did an amazing firework show for NYE - we were all tucked up in bed but got up to see it from the balcony and it was truly a spectacle to behold. 5 stars!

“Classic hotel in a perfect location”

We had a lovely stay at the hotel and enjoyed a slightly different Christmas. The grounds are magnificent and we enjoyed walks, runs and kayaking around the lake. We had a lovely stay at the hotel and enjoyed a slightly different Christmas. The grounds are magnificent and we enjoyed walks, runs and kayaking around the lake. The breakfast was delicious with so much variety and friendly staff. The Portuguese Corner was a particular favourite for sweet treats. Santa visited on Christmas Eve and we received various cakes, chocolate and other gifts in our room which was a nice touch. The Spa was very relaxing and admitted children from 11am to 2pm so we could visit as a family. The two ladies running the spa were very kind and welcoming. We ate some lovely food at the pool bar and evening buffet, as well as heading out to the many nearby restaurants in the marina. Overall, the hotel is beautifully situated, has great facilities and a fantastic team who couldn't have done more to make us feel welcome.

We absolutely loved this hotel and would highly recommend it. We are a family of 5 - 3 girls aged, 11, 8 and 5. The hotel offers a family room which is effectively two connecting rooms with enough bed capacity for 5. We stayed for a week and loved it, we had breakfast each morning in the buffet which was excellent. We ate lunch most days in the lakeside restaurant and headed into the Marina for dinner each evening. The hotel grounds are beautiful and when we travelled in May there was ample space and sun loungers for everyone. Our kids didn't use the kids club but did use the playground and tennis/basketball courts. One Pool was heated and swimming was certainly comfortable for the whole family. We booked a half board option which included breakfast and dinner but I switched the dinner to lunch by the water side restaurant for the week and this worked out really well for us. As we booked a family room we also had access to a lounge which was a great amenity, light bites, and free (included) soft drinks and alcohol. You can pour your own pint! Overall we had a fantastic week and will hopefully return with the family at some point in the future.

A very nice hotel, very clean, friendly staff. Stayed a week here over xmas and had a relaxing time. We booked the Emerald room which had the Haute living experience with it, the issue with this which we didn't know at time of booking is that our Emerald room was above the kids club so there were times when sitting on the balcony was not much fun due to screaming kids. The Haute living experience was a disappointment, we believed it to be a relaxing space to have a quiet drink, in reality it was the opposite. We were issued a pass card for the room but found the door open to all on every day, also again lots of uncontrolled kids running around. The food in the buffet was of a high standard, very good, our issue was that the plates were too cold to sustain food temp whilst eating, plates could be heated on request. A real shame, this is the only hotel were i have found plates not to heated. The additional restaurant 'Topos' we found to be really poor, far below the quality of the buffet. If you are looking for a quiet time away then this may not be the hotel you are looking for? The buffet restaurant had uncontrolled kids running around at all times, breakfast and dinner.
