The Duncurins spent a week in this wonderful hotel. It is close enough to the Marina so that one can enjoy a short walk and yet far enough so that one is not troubled by those enjoying the delights of the Irish bars and other ‘evening’ venues. It was also the boat show week which added a little extra excitement. The hotel has lovely views of the sandy beach and our room had a slightly side on view of the marina side. This too was a lovely view and we also enjoyed beautiful sunsets as the days lengthened early June as we approached the solstice. Our room , 818, was comfortable, clean and kept so by the maid service. We arrived very early on our first day and expected to wait for a few hours while our room was prepared but Reception phoned me within the hour to say that it was all set. We enjoyed the pool and also the lovely spacious lounges, bars and restaurant all of which were excellent spaces to relax, eat or drink. Prices for a 5* hotel are excellent with generous measures for the alcoholic drinks and a great range of cocktails, mocktails and soft drinks. We also enjoyed the evening entertainment. We’d chosen a half board package and were treated to lovely a la carte options each night - all of which were included in the HB tariff. Mrs Duncurin and I smiled one evening when we were talking to a lady who’d been out for her evening meal and had been served sea bass, unfilleted, complete with head with which she’d wrestled and been charged 85 Euros for - while Mrs D had enjoyed a beautifully prepared sea bass in the hotel restaurant which was excellent. One evening they brought the wrong dish to our table but the manager. Miguel, who was excellent at seeing that the whole restaurant ran smoothly, arrived within two minutes to offer his apologies and to tell me that my correct order was 2 minutes away - and so it was. The Duncurins would like to thank him and all the friendly, excellent staff whose hard work provided us with an excellent week. Well done and many, many thanks from team Duncurin.

“Large beachfront hotel with lovely staff”

Lovely hotel on the beach with excellent pool, only a short walk from the bustling marina. Although it’s a busy hotel, once in your room, it is quiet with no slamming doors! Lovely hotel on the beach with excellent pool, only a short walk from the bustling marina. Although it’s a busy hotel, once in your room, it is quiet with no slamming doors! Good bar service with happy, professional and helpful staff, and a delicious breakfast with plenty of choice. I would recommend this hotel if you want to be close to all the action, but not in the midst of the Vilamoura marina chaos!

Just returned from a week at the Crowne Plaza Vilamoura, had an absolutely fab week. The hotel is fantastic, loads of space, stunning pool and very modern. We stayed half board, the food is amazing, I have been to quite a few hotels all around the world, but the food at the Crowne Plaza really is right up there with the best!! The hotel really has a relaxed peaceful vibe! Even though England football was on and quite a few groups of golfers at the hotel, the atmosphere was pretty chilled! The best bit in my view was the staff, in the restaurant they were so friendly and couldn't do enough for you! Always smiling and cheerful. The reception staff also brilliant, nothing was to much trouble. We will definitely go back !! As said just had a week there and I know this is just a snapshot but our experience really was fab, same for Vilamoura lovely place.

Our experience at the Crowne Plaza, Vilamoura, was generally positive. The staff demonstrated friendliness and helpfulness, and the hotel offers comprehensive facilities. However, there are notable areas for improvement: Despite its 5-star rating, the hotel’s cleanliness fell short of expectations. Notably, the outdoor pool requires attention (there was even a deceased fish at the bottom). Frequent calls to reception were necessary due to housekeeping oversights. Insufficient towels, face towels, and water bottles were recurring issues, although room cleaning remained satisfactory. The restaurant’s dinner service left room for improvement. Fortunately, the abundance of dining options in the area mitigated this concern. The kids’ pool was uncomfortably cold during cooler days, prompting us to use the larger pool instead. On a positive note, the hotel’s location is exceptional, mere steps from the beach and a convenient 15-minute walk to the Marina. The breakfast selection is commendable, and the Spa, while pleasant, could benefit from additional attention, similar to the outdoor pool.
