I am not a frequent writer of reviews, but I have got to praise and recommend the Hotel Zodiaco. The hotel is spotlessly clean, both inside and out, very modern looking, rooms cleaned daily with fresh towels also beds made each day. The shower is great. Bed very comfortable. The pool area is also spotlessly clean and the pool itself really nice, not too cold! The staff on reception at the Hotel Zodiaco are all really friendly and helpful, and went out of their way to help and advise me with anything I needed. Although the restaurant has been closed since Covid, the hotel provides a buffet style continental style breakfast, with as much to eat as you want. There are plenty of restaurants to pick from about 10 minutes walk away from the Zodiaco, close to the beach. For anyone that likes walking and the countryside, like myself, there are plenty of pleasant walks close to the Zodiaco, some down to the seafront and then walking in either direction (right into Quarteira or turning left and along the beach/cliffs), also along various lanes and footpaths starting on the opposite side of the main road to the Zodiaco and leading to a couple of lakes which are good for birdwatching.

I stayed for 3 nights and was very impressed. The hotel is exceptionally clean and well decorated. The staff are very nice and the man on reception who checked me in was so helpful and welcoming and gave me lots of advice re local services. My room was a treat - as a solo traveller I’ve had some tiny rooms but not this time. A beautifully decorated room overlooking the pool with a king sized bed. The bathroom was well equipped and the shower was fabulous. The room was cleaned daily to a high standard. Breakfast was available and good WiFi. The hotel is close to the seafront and on the bus route from Faro. I really enjoyed my visit and exploring the locality and would certainly recommend this hotel.

2nd time this year. The fact you can see your your face on the black marble as you walk in speaks volumes. Abousloutly spotless. In all areas. 2nd time this year. The fact you can see your your face on the black marble as you walk in speaks volumes. Abousloutly spotless. In all areas. The rooms are brilliant and the beds extremely comfortable. Breakfast is good. Only continental so if you want a fry up not for you. The staff are very freindly and helpful. It's a walk from the sea front not to far but those with walking difficulties will suffer. In general a fantastic hotel and will definitely go back.

“Basic, affordable, exceptionally clean Hotel”

Reception: The Lady checking us in, was very pleasant and helpful. Simāo, (Simon) assisted isted later on, and was extremely helpful, he promptly assisted us with pillow exchanges. Reception is always open. Room / facilities: Room number 105 (pool view) is very basic and on the 1st floor and is exceptionally clean, except for the usual long black hairs on the bathroom floor. The room is located close to the busy road and gets day and night car noise when the window is open. Additionally there is room-to-room noise from guests and cleaners, surrounding local noise, street noise, radios and barking dogs from the squatters on the next door block of land. There is 1 useable power-outlet above the desk (for guests to charge devices), one under for the lamp. The bed side lights do not all function, the TV is mounted un-level on wall, shower head mounting rail moves the shower head down during shower, and cannot be tightened. There is no in room tea or coffee facilities, no fridge (although we found out later one can be rented), minimal shower gels for use, no tissues, no iron or board (which is a fire /safety hazard - yet the pad locked bars on the windows are not a fire / safety hazard. The mind boggles to the Portuguese “regulations”). To have any clothes ironed, they need to be given to a third party to complete and be paid for the task. The room has a self control split system air conditioning with a window that opens fully. The room has 2 firm single beds joined together, which initially seem uncomfortable, but actually are fairly comfortable, with one soft and firm pillow on seperate beds (which i had to request another softer pillow to swap out the firm pillow), desk, safe, hanging area extra blankets, window shutter, and a large shower cubical and good size bathroom. Due to the constant noise, we requested a room change and Simon (at reception) was very accommodating without question. The new room was 215 (rear open field facing) and very quiet, though still lacked the facilities mentioned above. The TV has been mounted level and the bedside lights functioned. Laundry: Not available on site but a paid offsite service is available. Parking: Ample onsite parking is available at no cost. Wifi: Complementary and good speed, password required. Breakfast: Available as part of the room cost. Buffet breakfast consisted of hot scrambles eggs, hard boiled eggs, 3x cereals, full cream milk only, cold sliced meats, tea and coffee, 3 selections of juice, whole fruit, bread, pastries and 4 flavors of yoghurt. There is a toaster available with various jams and spreads. Certainly sufficient food variety to start the day. As we departed on lour last night prior to the breakfast service commencing, the hotel does prepare “to go” breakfast bags, with a ha, and cheese sandwich, juice , cake and fruit. This was a very pleasant unexpected touch. Conclusion: Well positioned spotlessly clean affordable hotel with comfortable beds and a good shower. Friendly helpful staff and great breakfast facility. Letdowns: Poor room functionality, repairs, noise, lack of power outlets, no fridge. Location / Nearby: Quarteira beach area is a 700m easy walk, Lidl supermarket 1.8 km. Loule is a 15 min drive, Vilamoura 10 min drive. Recommendations: For those wanting a quieter stay, request a rear field facing room. Getting to hotel: If arriving by car, best use GPS.
