“Amazing staff”

We had a fantastic trip to the AquaShow park hotel, the food was great, hotel was brilliant but what really made it was the amazing staff. They were all so friendly and great fun, exceptional. Andrea in the restaurant was particularly lovely. The kids entertainers were all great, especially Teddy!

Stayed here for nine nights, two adults, three kids, 16, 13, and 9. Lovely Hotel, clean and relaxed with excellent staff. We went half board, breakfast and dinner included. **I would not recommend this option**. Food is good but extremely limited. We found it very samey after three days. Just to note, drinks are not included with dinner. Only three options if you want a glass of wine, the house white, red and rose. None of which are nice at all. The only other option is to buy a full bottle if you want a nice glass with your meal. This was very disappointing and limiting. Also only the spanish Estrella draught beer on tap, surprisingly they don't have super bock or sagres which are excellent Portuguese beers and local. The aqua park is included in your stay. We had enough of this place after three days, but it's nice to come and go as you please if the kids want to come and go if they want. Sunglasses are not allowed on any of the slides, or in the pool at the water park, the life guards will pull you up on this with their whistles. I had swimming shorts with zipped pockets and just popped our sunnies in their anytime we went down a slide. Food in their is decent and reasonably priced. The rooms are lovely and clean. However no tea/coffee making facilities are present. Bathroom doors do not have locks which is strange. Also only the ground floor rooms have enough room on their balconies for sun loungers, the rest just get table and chairs. The location of this hotel is both a good thing and a bad thing! Because of where it is, There are no shops or anything near by. Nowhere to go for a walk in the evening. This mainly attracts families only for the water park. There was never a scramble for sun loungers and there was always plenty of them around in the morning. The entertainment team do a great job of keeping the smallies entertained, though the music can be very loud for everyone else at the pool! Lovely relaxed feeling around the pool ourside. Worth noting, do not waste money on transfers from the airport. We paid €100 for a prepaid transfer with love holidays. Our flight was cancelled with aer lingus and ended up getting an earlier flight and list out on the transfer. We got a taxi for the five of us, all of our bags, and it was only €28 to get to the hotel. Downloaded the bolt taxi app and we used it throughout out our stay. Very handy and reasonably priced. You can pick how many seater vehicle you require. All in all fantastic hotel and park that could with some subtle changes. If you fancy a walk in the evening after dinner or to walk somewhere for dinner, this is not the hotel for you. Ideal for short family stays realistically. Local people are extremely friendly and helpful, we will definitely return to the area. Paul in Ticketland was legend for bike hire, we cycled from Quarteira to the marina in Vila moura, we'll worth it!

Just back from a 9 night holiday at the Aquashow hotel, we are a family of 5 Aged from 16 to 9 Lots of good things about this hotel The hotel is very clean which is always top of my list, rooms are basic but nice except the lack of locks on shower room doors and the see through walls which my teenagers hated but that aside no complaints The aquashow water park is literally a 5 minute walk from the hotel and daily admittance was included in our package which was good value , the park itself is amazing, brilliant slides and rides , but 3 or 4 days of it is enough My kids all too old for kids club but it all looked really good to and the staff were great The hotel itself is kinda rural, with no footpaths etc so unless you get a taxi you can't really go anywhere, but tbh that's not a big problem we just downloaded the bolt app which is brilliant it's very cheap to go to Queteira or Vilamoura only 5 to 10 minutes away lovely beach , marina and beautiful restaurants and shops Portuguese taxi drivers in our experience are very helpful and friendly We went half board which is breakfast and dinner, breakfast is lovely cannot fault it The buffet dinner was disappointing, food a bit bland and boring , have experienced half board in other simliar hotels that was far superior , also they don't do a lunch service , you can buy lunch at pool bar but it's a tad over priced and not a very varied menu Also disappointing that I could not buy a nice glass of white wine to have with dinner , only wine by glass available was the house white which was not nice at all, you had to buy the whole bottle to get nice wine , cheapest was 17 euro , no water or cordial available at dinner so had to buy water or fizzy drinks for kids ( it all adds up ) The bar staff are brilliant Fantastic cocktail makers very professional and it was a pleasure to see them work Hotel pool is lovely very clean This hotel has an over all chilled out feeling no rushing for sun loungers all very civilised which again was a pleasure, bit of annoying loud music at certain times around the pool but not all day long so can't really complain This hotel has many good points , if they improved the dinner buffet I think it would be perfect, also a kettle in room with tea and coffee should be available. We hired bikes from Paul in Ticketland in Quteira , we cycled to Vilamoura it was alot of fun , Paul was great to deal with and very reasonable. We also went to MAR shopping centre which was a 10 minute taxi ride , there is a brilliant designer outlet there very pleasant experience We also took a boat trip to see the caves and saw dolphins very close to the boat which was a beautiful experience The boat trip itself was a bit boring better off to book a trip where you get off boat for a while The staff at the hotel are really great and I hope management appreciate the good team they have If you're looking for karaoke bars and lively strips this is not the place for you If you want a quieter hotel with an amazing water park on your doorstep and are prepared to book a few activities this is place for you

“Great Family Holiday!!”

Just returned for 11 nights in Portugal where we stayed 7 nights in Aquashow Park Hotel with our two kids - age 13 and 9. We had such a great time and will return! Few things to note: - Go to the waterpark for 10/1030am - you'll get loads in from 10am-1pm and then you can get lunch in there and maybe do a few more slides and head back to hotel pool to relax. There were no q's for slides early and even later on we did not q for longer than 10mins - joys of going there in mid-June I would say. - We went to the waterpark 4 out of the 6 days, it has something for everyone - from small kids to teens. It is really brilliant! The rollercoaster was our favourite. - You are not within walking distance of anything - no shops/restaurants/pharmacies etc. Uber saved us... 5/6euro trip to Quarteira, 6/7euro trip to vilamora, 20euro to Albufeira - Nice beaches in Quarteira and Vilamora - sun loungers only 12euro to rent for the day there. Water is really cold. kids couldn't stay in too long. Lots of little shops/cafes etc around. The marina in Vilamora is beautiful - would highly recommend a walk around there - lots of little shops and pubs. You can book boat trips etc from there. - There are two good restaurants about 15min walk from hotel - no footpath most of the way though, not ideal! 1) "Oscars" really family friendly - bouncy castle and games at the back of the restaurant and then right beide it "La Bella Fiore", An Italian restaurant which was the best food we had over there!! so tasty, bit pricey but worth it. - If we were to return to Aquashow Park Hotel, we would stay 3/4 nights instead of 7. As there is nothing close by only the waterpark - once you have done 3/4 days there you are done. - The food in the hotel is average - don't do All inclusive. Breakfast is pretty good, fresh fruit, cereal, eggs, bacon - usual bits. We had dinner there 2 nights, pizzas, burgers etc, they were ok but couldn't eat there every night. Its not cheap either. 9euro cocktails!!! - The hotel entertainment isn't great, maybe it improves in July/August. Our kids made a few friends so they were happy running about so it didn't really matter. - Playground and indoor play area for small kids are brilliant - new and clean, lots of smaller kids seemed to have a ball and gave opportunity for parents to enjoy a drink. - Hotel is very clean - Room cleaned and fresh sheets every day. Overall super holiday and would recommend for all ages! We will definitely go back.
