“Relaxing”

Excellent hotel, great service, lovely staff, great spa, reasonable prices. Food good, limited choice but excellent quality. Central location fir beach and shops. Would recommend this hotel. The resort has a lovely long boardwalk with plenty of seated areas.

I stayed at this hotel in June 2024 as a solo traveller. Check in: I arrived at the hotel probably around 2-3 hours prior to check in. However, it was only around an hour and 15 minutes that I had to wait for the room to be ready. During the time that I did wait, I went to the outside bar, ordered a drink and sandwich and relaxed. Before I knew it, my room was ready. Room: I stayed in room 809 and was pleased with the amenities. The bedroom itself was a large enough space for my solo occupancy. Adequate amount of storage for my luggage, and cupboard space to hang my clothes etc. The bathroom contained a walk-in shower, hairdryer, mirror and toilet. The bedroom itself lead onto a balcony with a beautiful view of the local area and beach. It also had a mini fridge which was suitable for cooling my cartons of juice and water. Housekeeping: The room was spotless when I arrived, couldn't fault it. I had the option of having housekeeping each day of my stay, although I didn't always require it. I would like to express a special thank you to the housekeeper, Deolinda! What a lovely lady, who made every effort to make my room as comfortable and clean as possible. Deolinda deserves all the praise. Hotel Restaurant: I had the bed and breakfast package. The breakfast had enough choice of meats, eggs, cheese, cereals, breads, fruit, sweets etc. however do not expect a 'traditional English' breakfast (if you are a UK traveller). I was very pleased with my breakfast each day and always left the restaurant feeling satisfied. I ate at the restaurant in the evening twice (which was at an additional cost). The evening meal selection was traditionally Portuguese, but a variety of fish, meats, vegetables and desserts. Location: As a solo traveller who simply wanted a relaxing hotel experience, this hotel met my needs. This hotel is not going to give you the party/entertainment experience, (remember it is also a spa), therefore aimed towards relaxation. There are several places within easy walking distance for you to dine and drink. It took me around 10-15 minutes walking leisurely, to reach the beach and promenade (I could have got there in 5-10 mins walking quickly). The promenade has several places to eat and drink. A few minutes walk from the hotel are shops selling groceries, general holiday souvenirs, a pharmacy and other necessities. Again, you are unlikely to find major entertainment venues in this vicinity, but this suited me perfectly, as I was there for relaxation. Spa: The spa at the hotel was at an additional cost, but I expected this. I paid around €45 for a deep tissue massage with Alessandra (which was very good), then I had the choice of using the sauna, indoor pool etc. Overall, definitely a hotel that is popular with older Portuguese visitors. I had a very pleasant stay and no major issues to report. A clean, quiet, relaxing hotel, close to a small town and beach. Perfect for the chilled, solo/coupled traveller.

We stayed at the Alcazar for 2 weeks in May, just returning home today, the hotel is very clean with a lovely varied breakfast, tables were very close together in the restaurant which was a shame, the timing of the cleaning of the room, was a bit of a let down some days had not been by 4 pm when we wanted to chill out in the room for a while before the evening, the view from our balcony was stunning, unfortunately it was always breezy so not as warm as we would have liked but that isn’t the hotels fault. The one issue on maintenance ce we had was sorted out immediately

“Loud music spoiled trip”

Stayed here for 10 days, the hotel is good but we were on a low floor over the entertainment area and had to complain about the loud music from 10-30 through to midnight. Stayed here for 10 days, the hotel is good but we were on a low floor over the entertainment area and had to complain about the loud music from 10-30 through to midnight. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was fine, it could have been warmer but still ok. We went to the Spa which was also good value for money but when you went for a shower at the end the shampoo dispensers were all empty, but disappointing.
