We had a great time, very relaxing. Catia & Patericia (hope we have spelt name correctly) made sure any concerns we had were dealt with quickly and efficently. Staff work hard, lovely breakfast each morning and great coffee!! Had an evening meal which we requested before 4pm and chose from menu delivered to our room. We arrived at the restaurant and enjoyed a few drinks before being served mouth watering lamb type of casserole (best meal of the holiday) and good red wine. We did not have a car but walked to Espiche, bus service available but check times especially during off season. Bus to Lagos, spent a day visiting the Old Town with great and varied shops. Luz beach picturesque, had a wonderful short break people friendly and helpful. Location very peaceful and taxi service reasonable price.

“Superb hotel and outstanding staff”

The place is nice and remote and very peaceful. We stayed here during the first week of August. The staff work hard and they look after their guests. It’s obvious they take pride and it really shows. The place is nice and remote and very peaceful. We stayed here during the first week of August. The staff work hard and they look after their guests. It’s obvious they take pride and it really shows. The rooms can vary, some are very nice, especially near the pool. They are more like studio rooms and very spacious. Both rooms we had also had a TV and a fridge. Quite a few reviews mention having a car. I recommend this, I thought I could get away without a car hire but later regretted it. Although saying that Bolt, Uber and FreeNow were great apps for cabs and the fares were crazy cheap. There is a 30 min walk to get to the beach, just check Apple/Google maps (we ignored the ‘private’ sign as it was a public path anyway :P Pros: - Wonderful staff - Peaceful location - Beautiful scenery - Amazing pool - Excellent rooms (ones we had 1 and 2) - Breakfast was ok - Manager lady is super helpful - Air-con - Fridge (for nice cold drinks) - Secure gated access Cons: - You need a car ideally - Some rooms didn’t look too great - Breakfast was ok - No dinner (although we did find out there was dinner if you asked, they would tell you what was available that evening) - No shops for quite a distance (if no car) I know I listed some cons, but they are more of guidance to take precautions like hire a car, get snacks and drinks from the local Spar, etc.. I loved our stay here, it was wonderful.

“Very quiet and relaxing”

We were there early May. The hotel was very quiet and we often had the pool side to ourselves. Beautiful grounds full of flowering shrubs, many birds flying over, a delightful environment, we loved it. Our self catering apartment was very clean and spacious and overlooked the pool. A car is essential as the hotel is right out in the countryside. Praia de Luz is only five minutes drive away and there are great coastal walks in either direction from there. We loved the peace and quiet and will definitely go back again.

We booked this self catering apartment with the idea of relaxing, not leaving the place and to cook indoors (due to Covid). Place easy to find & 5 mint drive to Praia da Luz. Plenty of parking inside and check-in was quick (not much info given though). We stayed in room 14 which is a 1 bed apt over looking the complex & pool. No major issues with the apartment. We stayed in the winter but in the summer the large balcony will be great (could do with 2 x sun loungers). We booked breakfast for the 2 nights which was great and brought to our apt ever morning. Just a couple of things to mention, free Wi-Fi worked fine, no info in the room regarding anything, had a phone but no number of the reception, emergency number, etc, air con worked well on heat (in both living room & bedroom), kitchen needs to be better equipped for cooking and due to Covid-19 I would have liked that there had been some / any info in the apt regarding rules, etc in the room. No gel for your hands, masks, nothing. Overall great & cheap 2 night getaway. We would return.
