We have just returned yesterday from a fantastic holiday at this hotel. The hotel is spotless and well looked after, the rooms are big, very clean, great shower and beds are comfortable. All rooms from level 3 upwards have a view of the sea if you look after them. The restaurants have a great choice of food and also a kids station. I am a very fussy eater and did not struggle with choice. The pools are fantastic, one which is more laid back and the other one with the slides which is great for the children and families. The children's entertainment is great, the staff running the entertainment are mainly French but are fabulous, friendly and involve everyone. There are 4 lifts in the centre of the hotel, you waited one minute max at busy times for a lift. All the staff are polite and friendly. There is 2 buffet restaurants so even when it's busy no struggle to get a table. It's a 5 minute walk down some steps or the hill to a beautiful beach. There are a few bars and restaurants within a 5 minute walk and 10 minute walk to a massive supermarket. The bigger town with more shops and restaurants can be accessed by the road train which is 4 euros each return or a taxi which takes 10 minutes and 6 euros one way. Please ignore the negative reviews on this hotel. I would strongly recommend this hotel and am positive that you will have a great time.

“Wonderful Family Resort”

The hotel complex is located in a quiet suburban area near to Amaraco de Pera. The reception area is spacious bright and welcoming. On arrival there were sufficient, helpful reception staff to check in our family making the process quick and efficient especially after a long journey from home. It was pointed out to us at this time the many notices located on the reception desk where we could download the QR codes for the hotel Wi-Fi and detailed hotel information in many languages. Our rooms were located on the 5th floor which is actually only 2 floors up from the reception area with the restaurant pool area located on the floors below reception. The hotel consists of 2 buildings either side of the reception area with lift access to all floors. Rooms- were spacious with a large balcony containing a plastic sofa table and clothes drier. The sofa was comfortable enough to sit on to have a drink before dinner. In the room was a flat screen TV with some English channels, more than adequate clothes storage space a safe (payable at reception) and collapsible luggage racks. The bathroom was sizable with two wash hand basins, screened off toilet and a bath with overhead shower. Toiletries provided were shower gel, bar of soap, small packet of tissues and shower cap. Towels were changed regularly, however if you wanted a change of towel you just had to leave your towel in the bath and the maid left you a fresh one. My only comment about the bath/shower is that it was difficult to climb in/out with just one grab handle due to the large shower screen perhaps a further handle placed under the towel shelf would aid older residents. Pools-If need to use ramp access to the pool areas and snack bar it is best to go to the corridor left of the reception area and take a lift to the 1st floor which leads you past the 24hour snack bar to the ramp at the top of the nearest swimming pool area which consists of a large swimming pool, children's pool and bar. To the back and left hand side of this pool is a grass area with plenty of sunbeds. The larger pool to the rear of the complex with water slides and children's fun pool can be found past the grass area and through a short tunnel. Above the tunnel is located the "Themed Restaurant" and on the right hand side as you exit the tunnel the 2nd restaurant with a outside terrace. From here there is a series of steps leading down to the pool area or there is a ramp to the left which allows easy access to this area. All pool areas are closed until around 9am to allow for cleaning and pool maintenance. During our stay there was always sunbeds available both under the shade or in the sunshine depending on where you choose to sit. Staff were always present maintaining a clean area around the pool for you to enjoy. The pools were still a little cold but as this was mid June this was only to be expected. Restaurants -buffet style which had themed evenings with the exception of the waiter service Asian restaurant which in a one weeks all inclusive stay you could book for one evening . We found the buffet restaurant food was of a good standard, something to suit everyone in our family group. In the evenings you were able to see some of the food being cooked. We preferred to eat at the restaurant with the terrace as it was quieter and you could sit outside. Wine, beer and soft drinks are self service in the buffet during lunch and dinner. A word of warning however beware of the seagulls on the terrace- do not leave any food unattended! The canopy on the terrace is placed to keep them out but they still managed to access the eating area at times. The only time the snack bar is closed is when the restaurants are open . The staff are efficient at clearing the tables but they do ask if you are finished before lifting your plate. This is totally acceptable when you want to maintain a clean area for eating. There is always plenty of clean plates and cutlery! Children's Play Area in the evening - is payable for the bouncy castles and go-karts located on 4th floor with a limited bar. Bars-Open 11am until 12 am ( two drinks per resident at one time) A relaxing lounge bar is located to the left of the main entrance in the reception area. Sometimes there is a wonderful pianist but the music can be quite loud. If this is the case you can relax on the many sofas/chairs in the reception area. The wide range of cocktails in this bar are freshly made and very enjoyable. Note if you are taking your drink away from this bar area you will be given it in a plastic glass, acknowledges safe practice. Two pool bars which serve a variety of drinks and cocktails with carbonated drinks and water being available for self service. There is a further large bar inside the Theatre located to the left of the rear pool bar. We did not attend any of the shows during our stay so I cannot make any comment . Beach- Is accessible form the rear of the complex via a keypad gate. There is a sign for a path to the beach directly opposite the exit of the hotel , however there are many steps to descend to the beach via this path. If you turn right on exiting the complex and follow the footpath round a small bend there is another path on the left leading to the beach which has fewer steps. The beach is beautiful and has sunbeds to hire if required with access to another beach through a short tunnel. A word of warning the tunnel is quite dark with the roof is low in parts. There is a bar on the first beach which also serves food. I did not sample the food but it looked wonderful. Tourist train- 4 Euros return to Amaraco de Pera. A stop is located just opposite the entrance of the hotel. It takes around 15- 20 mins to get to the stop at the beach in Amaraco de Pera. If you get off here there are coffee shops and restaurants. I can recommend Busiris Cafe for amazing Frappes, lattes and pastries. Food looked fantastic. You can walk from here past the shops following the footpath/road to the right will bring you to the next beach were there is also a Tourist Train stop. Pedros bar on the beach is great for a relaxing cold drink. Uber- Taxis' are plentiful, not too expensive and easy to use. We travelled to Zoomarine from the hotel for 9 euro each way. with Albufeira Old Town 16euro. In summary I can thoroughly recommend this hotel for a relaxing family holiday. The hotel staff are pleasant and welcoming. Even with the hotel being busy the staff are able to maintain a beautiful clean environment for you to enjoy a restful stay -a credit to the hotel. I would definitely recommend and would make a return visit in the future.

We had a fabulous trip and the children really enjoyed themselves. There are 2 restaurants and the one by the pool is much quieter and you can sit outside which is lovely, particularly in the morning. The food is good with a wide choice . There are no hot drinks available at lunch time one the restaurants unfortunately. The kids club is excellent and ours enjoyed the mini disco in the evening. Overall a good experience for our first holiday of this type.

“Hit and miss.”

Hotel - It’s vast, the reception is on the 3rd floor, restaurant is on the 2nd and 1st floor is the snack bar/entrance to pool. Rooms - The room we stayed in was spacious and spotless, however the doors are very noisy, you can hear people walking around and no one knows how to close a door, everyone slams them. I tried closing our door without making a sound and it can be done. We stayed opposite a family that had 3 adjacent rooms and they were coming and going for hours everyday slamming doors so having a nap or just relaxing is a big problem. Outside area - again spotless, they work so hard to keep everything tidy, you can smoke around the pool area just ask for a paper cup, there is a deep end and it gets more shallow towards the steps. Bar staff are always helpful, I recommend the Bloody Mary, it was delicious. If you venture further away from the hotel you will find another restaurant and children’s pool area with slides and activities. You can also access the beach from there. Food - A bit repetitive but tasty all the same, I always made an effort to thank the restaurant staff and generally try to boost their moral as they all look under appreciated. Saying thank you costs nothing. Also watch out for people who stop in front of you to look at their phone while you’re carrying food back to your table. Staff - You either get the most helpful person you will ever meet who will do anything for you or the most disrespectful grumpy one. We asked for the England football game to have the sound on and the picture kept breaking up too, receptionist said “I can’t do anything, its the satellite” didn’t even try so we watched with no sound and music playing which they turned up. The French game a few days before had no music and load speakers with commentary. Very strange. Toilets - on a number of occasions I found girls under 10 years old in the men’s toilets next to the restaurant because they didn’t understand the sign on the door, it’s not very clear to be honest. This need’s addressing immediately. Evening entertainment is for children and we didn’t want to pay €19 each to use the sky bar that shuts at 10pm so you’re at a loss if you don’t have kids. We went to the Asian restaurant, I asked for water and was told there is Coke, lemonade, Fanta. I said great but I want water and got a very cold look from the waiter, also the food was very odd tasting. Lastly I’d like to thank Juan for helping removing a cricket from our room. All in all a reasonable hotel just don’t expect a quiet one.
