Have Just returned from the Beautiful Algarve! (14/10/2024 - 21/10/2024) Having visit many parts of the Algarve over the years, you think you you have pretty much covered this beautiful part of the world, then you stop in Alvor? Research before we travelled is always important but the people who was reviewing 'Alvorferias Club' previously are simply living in a different world? They should go and stop in Central London for 1 x night which would equate financially to a week in this beautiful Country? Our objectives were simple as we had not had a summer in 2024, so priority was that we had that wonderful golden ball in the sky! Check The plane did not fall out of the sky on route! Check Did the complex have a pool? Check Was there sun loungers provided? Check As there was only 2 x of us, it would be very easy to be over- rawed by the size of the apartment which would easily house 6 adults? Check The kitchen was coming with everything provided to cook a wholesome meal! Check p;s food not included In conclusion people who find scope to portray negative reviews especially from the Uk, have simply been watching too much '4 in a bed' and 'Come dine with me' and turned into some kind of hotel inspectors? As already mentioned go to the UK's Capital for 1 night evaluate what it will cost you and that will give some real perspective on this beautiful fishing village in the Glorious Algarve? Over All 12 out of 10 and did not even mention the excellent English breakfast every morning served by very attentive staff? Oh, beach / town is all within walking distance maybe 10 x minutes, but there are some hills, but you cannot blame the resort for that? Highly recommended!

“Basic but spacious”

On arrival check in was 4pm but managed to get in at 3.30pm. Receptionist was very nice ( Suzanne) and my room was not on the complex but on a street opposite. On arrival check in was 4pm but managed to get in at 3.30pm. Receptionist was very nice ( Suzanne) and my room was not on the complex but on a street opposite. I didn't appreciate having to lug my suitcase up 4 flights of steps especially with me being a more mature lady. Room was spacious but basic which i'd read on previous reviews. Maid service 3 times a week. No kitchen cloths so had to but a tea towel. Warning - the hot water was very hot! An on site supermarket but an Intermarche approx 8 mins walk away down the hill. Main Alvor town a further 5 mins walk. Beach ( 3 brothers) approx 15-20 mins walk but worth it ( across the roundabout down the main road,turn right at the roundabout, walk about 10 mins and then you come to a car park on the left where you turn into the beach. Walk to the end where the rocks are. Well worth it. Location was a bit far out for me and would have preferred nearer to town & beach. Mattresses for plastic sunbeds round pool area was €1 a day. Ate a couple of times at the complex & generous portions. The carbonara was the biggest i've ever had. So a budget apartment complex and you get what you pay for.
