From our arrival as weary travellers for a 10 day holiday we were welcomed with smiles and a speedy check-in. The suite was beautiful very clean and spacious with a large kitchen too. We stayed all inclusive so kitchen was not really used but fridge was handy for keeping bottles of white wine and milk chilled. The restaurant was buffet style and served a large selection of meat, fish, soup, salads pizzas, cheeses, deserts always with vegetarian options and plenty of fresh fruit. Breakfast had danish, yogurts, fruit, cheeses, cereals, mixed nuts and dried fruits also full English too. Always a good selection of delicious foods available outside main meal times too. I bet that kitchen never stopped. The staff were amazing especially Sao in the restaurant. She always greeted you with a smile and a few happy words, practicing her very good English and encouraging you to try a few words in Portuguese whilst making sure you enjoyed a pleasant meal and topping up drinks. The Bar was also a great hub especially in the evening, with live music on frequently and always a new cocktail of the day to try. The drinks were good quality too. One day we did have bad weather but there was plenty of games, books and jigsaws available and good company of other holidaymakers enjoying the hotel. My one gripe was most people were all inclusive at the hotel but they never left a tip for staff. We honestly were quite embarrassed by this and can honestly say we regularly tipped both in the bar and restaurant and were very happy to do so. The staff were very appreciative. “Lovely pleasant stay in the Algarve and Patio Suite”

This was our first time in the Algarve and staying at this hotel. Good things about the hotel: * reception area was nice and clean. 3 lifts in the centre of the building with more lifts on either side of the hotel which makes it quick to get up and down from your room. Some other hotels we stayed in had many more rooms than what the lifts can cope with. Check in was easy and quick, we got there early but room was ready for us to use so we could start enjoying our holiday. If all inclusive, you can choose to have lunch on the day of arrival or day of departure, we chose the former as we had to leave by 8am on the last day! * rooms are spacious, we stayed in a one bedroom apartment which has a living room, dining table, sofa, 2 comfy chairs with a wall-mounted TV, a kitchen that has washing up liquid, utensils, kettle, toaster etc. We didn't really use it as we were all inclusive. Bedroom was good size, so was bathroom. Bathroom had a wall attached hair dryer but there was also one in the bedroom which was better. Balcony is decent size with a small table and 2 chairs. Our room faced the south pool which got the morning/early afternoon sun. *rooms were clean. We didn't really ask for housekeeping service but got some toilet papers and towel changed when required * they give you cards to exchange for beach towels and so you either return the towels to them or the cards at check out, otherwise I think 10 euros would be charged either total or per towel * There is one main restaurant, most food was decent but they were luke warm temperature. We are not picky eaters but would prefer to have hot food. Their milk bread was so delicious, for someone who doesn't eat bread much, I ate lots in the week. There was no theme nights as such but there were different options that should suit most guests, e.g. beef, veal, pork, chicken, lots of fish but be careful of the bones. They had a really nice fish soup one night that I wish they could have made it on other nights as well. Staff were all very friendly in the restaurant. One remembered our drinks for dinner which was nice. It was not busy so the service was good, they bring drinks to you and would ask if you wanted more when you have finished. You can also self service tea/coffee and soft drinks. * there are plenty of seats in the hotel lobby/extending to the bar (however it was quiet for us so may be not enough seats in peak season and as such not much entertainment in the evenings, apart from one night but we liked it that way) * they have free shuttle bus that takes you to the Praia da Falésia beach which apparently is the best beach in the world. It was quiet and we had a nice walk all the way from where shuttle bus dropped us off to Vilamoura. We walked back as well and saw the sunset. * they also have free shuttle to Olhos de Água which is a little village. *you can book day trip with the hotel or with your travel agent. worth visiting Cape St Vincent, Sagres, Lagos. We also went to Monchique and Silves but there were not much happening there. It was about 65 euro pp from 9am to 5pm. * there was a mini supermarket about 2-3 mins away by foot that we bought water from but the room had complimentary water (at least for the first day). * all inclusive drinks were nice and service was ok except 2 days when their promoted drink was pina colada but as I don't really like alcohol, I asked for virgin colada and they said they didn't have any! It's literally the same without the rum! Things that may need improvement on (personal opinion only): * bathroom was all tiled which makes the whole room very wet after showing/bath and therefore things that you put in the bathroom were wet, including the toilet rolls! * temperature of the food - mostly luke warm unless you timed it right and get it when its fresh out from the kitchen and pick the middle part of the tray. Also the way they laid the trays out seem to be a bit difficult to reach the back of the serving counter * one day the shuttle bus for some reason was not available, we asked reception and waited for 30 mins and it was still not available, if we didn't carry heavy stuff, we would have walked to the beach already. We ended up getting a uber in the end which cost about 5-6 euros. * no shuttle to Albufeira but uber cost about 8-9euros. Worth visiting the old town where there is a nice beach and lots of restaurants/cafes and shops for souvenirs. * no boxed tissue in the room where most hotels would have. Toilet rolls quality probably isn't up to par for a 4 star hotel Overall we had a very lovely time and would definitely go back to visit the Algarve and do some more sight seeing.

Stayed a/i last week in November just before the hotel closed so was nearly empty and very quiet. Most were 'Brits' and of a certain age. Lovely hotel with spacious bedroms[apartments] and very clean. It is on the outskirts of Albufuera about 4 miles from centre, so nothing much around except a couple of shops and restruants. It is a bit of a hike to the nearest beach but there is a shuttle bus that will also take you to the loal habour/cove. Pity it does not go all the way to Albufeira as local bus services are few and far between and taxis are about £12 each way. As it was closing there was no entertainment only football on big screens. Food was buffet style and a good range but never really hot. Restaurant staff were excellent especially Elizabeth. Two pools, one either side but can be very shady and being late Autumn the patio bar only got a bit of sun at around 8'oclock for about an hour. The pool bar [family] was closed. Reception staff were friendly and helpful at all times. If you are looking for quiet and relaxing it is just the place. It may be a bit more lively in Summer.
