Stayed at the Rocamar Hotel in Albufeira for 11 days Nov/Dec2024. Excellent location, nice staff, good spread of breakfast. Very clean n Tidy hotel..room we stayed in was a little outdated but comfortable. The body massage was very relaxing. The sea facing rooms had a charge of 30 euros pet day as it was non season. During season it's more. We were informed that we were upgraded to a room with a balcony which we never used but thank you. Have a few concerns though..the Paint was peeling on the toilet seat n above the balcony door. The grooves in the bathroom tile looked black n dirty. There was a hole in the tile near the bed. The big white bin in the room was an eyesore which was not used again. To use the safe in the room we were infmd that we would hve to pay around 2.50 euros per day , which was a surprise. Overall enjoyed our stayed at this hotel. Would definitely recommend this hotel to family n friends All the best!

A very good hotel in a great position on the edge of Albufeira old town, in a fairly quiet location, overlooking the sea. If you want a poolside holiday this may not be the hotel for you unless you’re determined, every morning, to stake a claim for one of the 8 sun beds by the pool. The pool is fairly small but is usually quiet and large enough for swimming or just cooling down as you take in the fantastic views. There are a few other poolside places to sit and enjoy a drink at the bar. Breakfast choices are good. It can get a bit chaotic at popular times as there isn’t much space around the serving and buffet areas. The dining room can also become full, but sitting at an outside table is also an option. Our room was large enough, with a sea view, and cleaning staff were professional and efficient. You do not have a kettle for tea/coffee, but there is a Nespresso coffee machine. You receive two complimentary pods and can purchase more if required. If you like Nespresso coffee my tip would be to purchase a pack of ten pods at the nearby Spar Supermarket for a fraction of their price. In my experience all staff were friendly and courteous, in particular the reception staff. The hotel is in a great position for the beach, a stroll into the old town, or in the other direction the Marina. It may not be everyone’s choice but it certainly ticked enough boxes for us to want to return.

“A good trip”
Staff were friendly, the breakfast was really good. Cleaned really well and a free upgrade really made the stay extra special. What didn’t give the full 5 out of 5 was the lack of space in the pool area and pool bar never open. Otherwise was decent for price.

You know the biggest 1 star experience about this hotel, that actually has nothing to do with the hotel, is the many arrogant loud rude british people, that for example asks if its an interrogation when asked for their room number at breakfast in the morning, and ignoring the barrier (like the ones in an airport). Actually there is a lot of people comming from the boardwalk on the seaside of the hotel, that asks if they can have breakfast at this hotel!? They are turned down, and if they weren't, there wouldn't be tables and food enough! That's why it's a really good idea asking for, and ticking off people's room number on there list! We've also experienced drunk brits knocking and kicking at our door at 3 o'clock at night! The hotel it self, is nice and clean, and has nice furniture. If you rent a car, parking can be a little bit challenging, depending on the hour of day. We got a parking lot right outside the hotel, two times in two weeks, but if you circle around a few times, usually you will find a spot nearby. Renting a small to medium sized car, is a good choice when you have to park in the narrow streets. We upgraded from a room facing the street, to a room with sea view. The upgrade does cost a bit more, but the room is bigger, has a nicer big shower, new air-conditioning, and usb outlet at the bedside table. The staff is polite, and very helpful. The woman that manage the spa, is very good at massaging. Her English is not so good, but if there is any doubt, you can translate by writing on her phone, and communicate that way. You pay to use the safe in the room, but the yacuzzi and sauna is for free, and so is using the workout facilities (weights/ treadmill/ exercisebike). My experience is, the larger the hotel, the bigger the breakfast buffet! This is not a big hotel. The good thing is, there is not to many people (and no children), but the buffet is a little bit limited. The coffee is something else... the brand is Delta, in other parts of the world, it's called Douwe Egberts, it's instant. I think you can order and pay for real coffee!? There is a small nesspresso machine in the room. There is kitchen staff that will make you a hot pancake if you want at breakfast. At arrival the first day, we had dinner at the hotel. I had a bacon cheese hamburger. I'm sad to say, it's the worst I've ever had, not that it tasted bad, but the bun was not heated at all, the bacon was fake, no lettuce, no cucumbers, no tomato, no mayo or ketchup. Generally, people don't eat dinner at the hotel. There are many good restaurants down town. Pasta at Alfredo's or sirloin steak at The Black Bull is two great choices. At the time of our stay, there where 10 sunbeds at the pool (witch is not heated). To large signs tells that it's not allowed to reserve the beds, so that's exactly what people do, first thing in the morning, before breakfast, they lay there towels, and come back an hour or more later! We where there for two weeks, and didn't get a sunbed a single time! To rent a sunbed at the beach, costs 10 euro per day. The day before our departure, one of the nice and polite staff asked us after we've had our breakfast, what time we where leaving the next morning. And because we where checking out at 7 o'clock, they made us a breakfast box that they put in our room the night before. A summary: there is no wending machines, no minibar at the room, but there is a small refrigerator at the room, a bar next to the dining hall, and a ATM machine right out side the hotel, on the seaside. Weather this is a 4 star hotel or only 3 as others have mentioned, is up for debate i guess. Most things are 4, a few things perhaps 3. Service and helpfulness from the staff is 5 star! We would not hesitate to come back another time.
