Just back from a lovely stay. Lovely quiet location right on the beach. We got a room upgrade to a junior suit on arrival so that was a lovely surprise. Staff were lovely and breakfast buffet had plenty of choice. We requested an iron and board when we arrived and had them delivered to our room within 10 minutes. Also on the last day after check out we had nowhere to charge our phones and they had no problem letting us charge them at the pool bar. Found the staff very helpful and friendly. Drinks were a little pricey but that was to be expected in a 5 star resort. We were able to get two toasted sandwiches, chips, 2 beers and a glass of wine in the old town for the same price as a beer and cocktail in the hotel. There was no shops or bars in walking distance but an Uber to the old town was only around €10. We were attending a wedding at Lady of the rock (chapel nossa) and reception at pink house, Villa Rosa so this hotel was a perfect location for us being 10 minutes from the ceremony, reception and the old town. We had lunch in the hotel 2 days and one day in the salgodos beach bar and all meals were lovely. We went to the spa 3 times. €10 each per visit and was a lovely, clean, relaxing spa. Pool areas were very clean. It’s a lovely hotel for couples but I felt if we had our 2 children with us there wouldn’t have been enough to keep them entertained for a holiday. I felt it was more a 4 star hotel but for some minor reasons based on a 5 star hotel we usually go to. The hotel could do with a little paint touch up in areas and slight modernisation in areas, there was no night time entertainment, there didn’t seem to be much entertainment or classes on during the days, the pool bar didn’t serve food and could have done with a little more selection. Like I said these weren’t major issues wouldn’t stop me from going back. If your looking for a nice, quiet hotel close to the old town but not to close then this is perfect.

I had an absolute wonderful time in Albufera and loved Salgados Dunas Suites. I went with a few friends for our 40th birthdays. Below, I’ll write about the many positives and few negatives regarding the hotel and its surroundings: Positives Rooms: the bedrooms are clean, spacious and have all the amenities you would ever need. The room balconies are also large. Friendly staff. The vast majority of staff I encountered were happy to help and very polite. Very clean. The hotel and rooms are spotless. I have a thing about cleanliness and this place did not disappoint on that front. Great breakfast. Although the selection is limited, it’s definitely quality over quantity, which I much prefer. I didn’t eat lunch or dinner at the hotel so I can’t comment on that. Beautiful beach. The beach is a 2 or 3 minute walk from the hotel but it’s clean and stretches for miles. I went in May and it was very quiet: I practically had parts of the beach to myself. Sun loungers with a parasol cost €20 for the whole day. The last thing was a positive for me but could be a negative for others: it’s a little far out and there isn’t much to do in the immediate area surrounding the hotel. I personally loved the peace that this bought but if you’re looking for things to do on your front door, this probably isn’t the place for you. I just used Uber to travel everywhere. It was 15 minutes to Old Town and around 35 minutes to Vilamoura and Uber fares are cheap here. Negatives The bedroom walls are paper thin. Unfortunately you can hear a lot of what happens outside. I didn’t mind during the day because I was mostly out but it did bother me at night on occasion. I would sometimes hear furniture scraping along the floor and the sound of things being packed away at like 1am. I think this was the hotel staff packing stuff up. Not sure. The other thing isn’t really a negative but something that would make the hotel better. The hotel has lots of lovely pools but they were all empty. Reason: the water was freezing cold. If the hotel had a few heated pools it would take this hotel to the next level. All in all, I would definitely stay here again. Portuguese people are wonderful and the food everywhere is spectacular. It’s a trip I’ll remember for a long time.

Thoroughly enjoyed a relaxing week here. Pleasant room with balcony, good buffet breakfast - great swimming pools and adjacent to a fabulous beach. The boardwalks attached to the hotel proved to be a welcome treat for long early morning walks. It's well away from albufeira's hen and stag area, it's situated in a tree lined,peaceful, likeable zone. Great for a chill out and recharge the batteries week!
